Flight Delays

Hypothetical situation:

We are scheduled to arrive at MCO in the evening and have FP+ scheduled in a particular park the following day. There are flight delays and we don't arrive to Disney until very late at night or the following morning. Will Disney make accommodations to transfer my existing FP+ reservations to a different day?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

No. It would be up to you to Cancel and rebook your own FPs.

You can always explain at the Front desk how you lost your FPs but the CMs aren't obligated to accommodate you.

No experience, but I would think no, because you would presumably have FP+ for those days already......

In addition to this, if you have any ADRs you'll need to cancel those as well otherwise you can be charged the no show fee. You can argue the fee after, but a friend missed her trip entirely because of Hurricane Sandy and she was charged at every ADR she missed. She called and they helped her, but save the headache of that!

Common thought is to never book anything that is a must do on arrival day since many things outside your control can delay your arrival

OP stated the FP is booked for the following day not day of arrival.

Typically Disney won't make these accommodations. On a rare occasion, they'll be in the wrong and there will be an opening. For example, there was a problem with buses one time. Our bus never showed and we waited nearly an hour for one to DHS. Once we arrived, we had missed our FP+ for TSMM. I went to guest relations and complained. After checking my story they gave me one of those paper FP's.

That was a rare exception.

I would save your must-do FP+'s for later in your trip. Do your "seen it and done it's" early in your trip. For example, I wouldn't book Animal Kingdom or Avatar for our first day because there are too many unknowns. I'd do Magic Kingdom and schedule BTMRR, 7DMT, Buzz. These are rides we've been on a bunch of times and if we missed it, we'd just catch it during EMH's or not really care.

That makes it even more of a no. You have to cancel the day before. If, for example, you choose to sleep in and miss and ADR then that's your choice and you pay the no show fee. It is always your responsibility to make your ADR time or change it.

We had a 12 hour flight delay on our first day. I had SDMT and BOG booked. Guest services in the MK took pity on me and gave me an anytime FP to use for SDMT. I luckily had another BOG ADR for mid trip (we wanted to go twice) so that worked out for us.

For future trips I will not book an ADR on arrival day or important FP+.

We were delayed our arrival day by over eight hours and not able to make our ADR...Called Disney Dining and they canceled without penalty but agree most likely it's in your court to rebook FP+ and ADR's...May help to pass the time in the airport while you're waiting :)though fingers crossed this won't happen!

One reason my fp+ the night of arrival is my fav's is because I plan to ride them 3-4 times. I would advise not making must have FP+ the night of arrival. I did not ever think about the next day. I hope that will not be an issue for me. Good luck to you and anyone else it may become an issue for.
