Flight Costs

My wife and I are thinking of going to Disney next July (2007). We were thinking of flying to Disney from the Northeast on Saturday, July 7. I know most airlines have not released fares for next summer yet, but would tickets be higher that day because it is the first Saturday after the 4th of July? Or would something like the proximity to a holiday like that not matter?

Our experience - flying from PHL- has been that tickets are less expensive before the summer holidays begin and right after. However, that does not always hold true in all markets, especially if Southwest and or Jet Blue flies from an airport near you. I would begin to get an idea of prices from your airport - and others nearby, if applicable - so that when a deal you can live with appears, you will spot it quickly. Also, try Orbitz and Travelocity to gain some perspective on prices; they will send you updates on a regular basis.
