Flight # Change and DME

Hi everyone,

My trip is in a little over 2 months from now. I originally purchased a MYW package online and set up DME travel right then, using the flight numbers of a flight I had already booked through American Airlines.

I just got an email from American Airlines and all my flight numbers have changed. I am going to call DME tomorrow but I am just curious if anyone else has been in this situation.

My main question would be - Did you have any problems? Also, when you got your booklet with all your vouchers a few weeks before your trip, did they reflect the correct flight numbers?

I am obsessive when it comes to logistics, so things like this really irritate me. :)

For your arrival into MCO, it isn't a huge deal. But, for your departure flights, from MCO, it is much more meaningful. I would actually wait until you get closer to your trip...then call DME and give them the updated info. Your yellow luggage tags don't need to have that info on them. But DME does need to have correct flight info for your flight home.

If your arrival into Orlando changed by just a few hours it is not necessary to telephone and consume anytime minutes (long distance charges for you cell phone non-owners) to let Magical Express know. With or without a flight change it is perfectly acceptable to stop off for a meal at the airport food court before going to the DME welcoming area, too.

When they check the paperwork of guests arriving at the welcoming area, flight number on the voucher is not part of the criteria.

It is also okay to wait until you get there before making an adjustment for the flight home. Less of a chance of a glitch (... or Grinch? ... or fatfingering telephone reservationist?) screwing up the arrival details. The return DME reservation can be arranged at the welcoming area or at your resort.

If done at the resort, do they print off a new voucher with the correct info? Because my only fear with any DME reservation issues is when going to the airport from our resort, the driver will look at my voucher and tell me it's incorrect.

I had that, also AA, the changes are due to re-aligning flight numbers for the merger. I just updated my info on MDE, no problem at all.

Ahhh! Great shades of the United-Continental merger, it's happening again...

The voucher for your return trip will be left on or under your resort room door he day prior to departure to allow for any changes in flight times.

Or the Delta/Northworst? :D

Actually, as mergers go, the AA/US isn't going badly at all. I've been pleasantly surprised that there have been so few glitches.

That's right, I'd almost forgotten about Delta/NW. Near the end of the Continental/United merger I was on a flight which was clearly with a former Continental crew, they were all wearing wristbands that said "ExCON" on them. Clearly not everyone was happy about the change.

Right... forgot about that. I was thinking we use that paper in addition to the original booklet that we get via mail. :). Last trip, my boarding passes were also magically hanging on my door without me even having to check in.
