I have been in 2 minds about whether or not I should post this but I know that Flight Centre often gets a bad rap, even here on the Disboards. People in general are quick to criticize businesses but often keep the good stuff to themselves so I want to share my amazing experience with Flight Centre.
I called FC on Tuesday to get a price on some SYD-LAX flights. The consultant was lovely and offered to match a price I had found elsewhere. Due to no fault of his, simply the decisions of the powers that be, he regretfully advised me that they would not be able to match it and directed me to the price beat guarantee on the website. I called the number I found on that link, left a message and waited. Within the hour I had received a call from the state manager. She listened to my story, put me onto an after hours agent who held my flights and she set about looking into the matter.
The next day I received a call back from her telling me that she is so sorry that Flight Centre has let me down on this occasion and due to them not meeting their own price beat guarantee she is going to give me all the flights for free.
She then put me straight onto another wonderful agent to ticket the flights for me. So within 24 hours of my initial enquiry with FC, I had my free flights.
They have been nothing but helpful and accommodating with me, with the state manager calling me after hours, one of the agents replying to an email i had sent him on his day off and I even threw in a last minute change of itinerary before the final ticketing, all done in the most friendly way.
So I now have some spare money that I have saved on flights. I considered splurging on accommodation but after really thinking about it, we really spend virtually no time in our hotel, I think I will stick with the original accommodation plans. What I think I will do is get us all annual passes which is not that much more than the 10 day passes anyway, and hang onto the money and go back again next year, or when some great flight deals are released again I can just jump on them.
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you all because I know that you all understand the heart connection that we have with Disneyland that draws us back all the time, that the rest of the world doesn't seem to understand. Also, flight centre is not all bad. Yes, research and find the best prices that you can as I have always done, but they have proven to me that they do mean what they say and if they can't beat your price they WILL fly you for free. Right now, I am so incredibly grateful to Flight Centre
