I'm usually not paranoid about things like this, but I'm taking a very short (3 day) trip to WDW next month and I'm wondering how WDW handles cancellations due to weather issues. This past weekend, thousands upon thousands of flights were cancelled. Would WDW step up and allow you to use your deposit on a future trip, or would you lose that deposit entirely?

TIA!

Under general circumstances, you will forfiet the deposit.

During the hurricanes this year they were allowing people to cancel without penalty. In that case it was a better deal for THEM to not have to take care of extra people's needs with damaged rooms, short staff, and supply issues with fuel and food deliveries. In the case of general weather in the snowbelt or CHAOS with US Air, I think you're out of luck, and should consider travel insurance.

I saw a post on another board that someone's Comair flight on Saturday was cancelled and they could not get a flight to Orlando until today. They said Disney reaccomodated them at the same rates. I suppose they handle it on a case by case basis, depending on occupancy levels.
