Flexibility with OTU points

I know you can't transfer/bank/borrow otu points, but has anyone experienced member services making exceptions due to covid?

We have a trip booked for the end of the month with 7 otu points, but after spending all day at emerg with my son yesterday (not covid related), I'm starting to rethink our trip. It's obviously not a huge deal if nothing can be done, since I knew it was a risk when purchasing them, but thought I'd ask anyways before calling and waiting on hold
 
No reports of anyone getting OTU points extended past the end of the UY they are in,

People were able to get a refund during closure. They have made a few other exceptions with peoples own points so it is worth a call IMO.

Today is busy with the new ticket offer, but in a few days it might be easier to get a hold of them.

Thank you. I’ll wait a few days and call. Worst case I have until the end of august to use them.
 
I had OTU points during the beginning of the pandemic for a trip I couldn’t take. They were not making exceptions for them. They expired at the end of the use year. No refunds or banking them into next use year. I asked a couple times.
 

Just got off the phone with member services and wanted to provide an update.

I asked if I’d be able to transfer them to my 2021uy to use for a reservation next year, but since my booking window isn’t open yet, they just did a refund. I didn’t need to push for it at all. So looks like they are making some exceptions, which is very appreciated.

That is great! Glad they made the exception for you. The points belong to them anyway so not like they will go to waste!!
