Flavors of Fun - A Food-Filled Dining Report (with pictures!!)

Ok, I just got back from a fabulous Disney vacation! The main focus was eating and I couldn't be happier! So now I am attempting my first dining report! It was a fairly short trip but full of food! My sister is also on the Disboards so she will be adding her comments as well!

Day 1:
Lunch: Beaches & Cream (featuring the Kitchen Sink!)
Dinner: Pecos Bill's
Various Snacks around the Magic Kingdom

Day 2:
A Day of Food and Wine (and beer and vodka) at Epcot

Day 3:
Breakfast: Tusker House
Lunch: Goofy's Candy Company
Dinner: Jiko

Day 4:
Breakfast: Whispering Canyon Cafe

Here are our cast of characters:

Time for some food pictures!

The 4 of us have been planning on having the kitchen sink for a long time now. We weren't sure if we would be able to handle it, well except for JE who thought he could have it by himself as long as I helped him with the cherries!

We arrived at Beaches & Cream around 11:30am and got seated right away!

So we planned out our strategy and decided to have a little lunch first so we wouldn't be completely starving when the ice cream arrived.

Our server was awesome and split our entrees for us!

EE & PP split the Cheeseburger w/ Bacon and Onion Rings:

This was my first time at Beaches and Cream and I thought the burgers were delicious!!

Then..... the moment we had all been waiting for!!

The Kitchen Sink!


It was beautiful!! I had waited so long to have it and was so worried about finishing it that I never thought about how delicious it would be! It was soooo good. The only thing I would suggest is de-stemming the cherries since sometimes you would get a spoonful of cherry stems! It was my job to try to get those out of the way!

Ok, so I had a feeling we would finish it, but I didn't realize we would do it so quickly!!

Just a side note Me (EE) and PP split a chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon and it was so fabulous!! Really juicy and yummy.

The Kitchen sink was super incredible I was really surprised too at how yummy it was the toppings were really delicious well at least the ones I tried were a certain someone ate all of the candy bar pieces

Ok, then it was off to the Magic Kingdom to go on our favorite rides and continue eating. When we arrived we were suffering from sugar overload from the Kitchen Sink so we needed something salty!

Luckily, our first stop was the Egg Roll Cart:


Not the best picture, but we were relaxing in the shade! Me, JE and PP got the Vegetable Egg Rolls and EE got the Pork and Shrimp one, they were fabulous! I swear there are illegal substances in those things that make them so good!

After going on some of our favorite rides we stopped at Pinocchio's Village Haus, and we all tried Figaro Fries for the first time!


I first heard about the Figaro Fries here on the Disboards and couldn't wait to try them! They were a big hit and we dipped them in Ranch, Blue cheese, and really whatever else we could get our hands on!

After more rides it was time for Dinner! Sounds kind of ridiculous since we had been eating all day! But we had been looking forward to Pecos Bills and since Johnny Empanada doesn't consider snacks to be a meal we had to get more food!

Can you tell we all attacked the Fixins Bar?? I love shredded cheese so I just put that on top of everything. EE loved the mushrooms and sauteed onions. It was a very yummy meal, but I was definitely starting to get full!

More rides, and then:

Dole Whips!!!!




Dole Whips were another first for me, but since my sister always raves about them I couldn't go to the Magic Kingdom one more time without trying one! It was really yummy, but I'm glad I was warned about the hollow center!

Time for Wishes and the Parade! It was such a fun day and I was definitely more than satisfied with all of the food, but alas JE still had one more craving:


Ice Cream Sandwich from Main Street Bakery!

He didn't even offer to share!! That's ok, I was already starting to focus on the next day and the Food and Wine Festival!!!!

I just realized I didn't take a picture of PP's meal at Pecos Bill's. He got the Pulled Pork Sandwich which he absolutely loves and he added all the great fixins to his sandwich as well. I have always been a fan of the Pecos Bill's fixin' bar I love the mushrooms and onions but the addition of shredded cheese well that just threw it over the top!!

Wow, loving these reviews - am I right in thinking all of the food so far was eaten in the same day? Those figaro fries look great - I never fancied them with teh lettuce and sour cream (or whatever used to be on them) but with just bacon and cheese, they look downright delicious - I will definitely have to try them now.

You are correct so far all the food DisneyDynamo posted the four of us ate in one day! It was quite the undertaking! Wait until you see all we ate at Food & Wine though.
