Flat screens for Beach Club?

I see Boardwalk is getting new flat screen tvs, paint jobs, new villa appliances, etc. Any clue when the Beach Club get the flat screens??

Each resort has a renovation cycle because the cost of it is funded through the member dues reserve fund and the money has to build up. It's been a long time since BWV last had room renovations, this may even be the first time for a full renovation including appliances. I know the stoves & refrigerators are very old. Not sure when BCV is due. With the TV's, they not only have to replace the TV, they also have to replace the cabinets.

This is good news for the BWV. As an owner I'm excited to see some upgrades. We are due back to BWV in October and December, so I wonder if they will be done then.

There are TV's in the rooms? Who has time to watch tv at WDW?

Actually, I knew there were tv's, but I'd rather not pay more dues for a flat screen since there are really not enough channels to watch anyway.

I wouldn't expect the BCV's to be updated for several more years. They opened in July 2002. Just 7 years ago. The BWV open up in 1996. 13 years has gone by with out major TLC.

Sad to hear no upgraded flat screens for BCV in the works. They really do need to update those rooms, though...

Front desk manager at BCV told me she was told new flat screens would come in 2010.

And what about VWL? I think they just went through a soft goods refurbishment for their rooms but didn't hear if flat screens were added. I suspect they were not as that would include new tv cabinets which I don't recall any hard goods replacement. The regular Wilderness Lodge rooms all were refurbished several years ago and got the whole treatment, including flat screens.

There's a front desk manager for BCV? Wouldn't that really be the front desk manager at the BC since the villas check in at the BC and not at the villas?

The BCV rooms just had a soft renovation recently, didn't they? Can't imagine they'd be replacing the TV's next year if this is the case.

Yes they did and I for one can't understand so many want the flat TV's. They don't come in any clearer with reg broadcasting (most of them worse) and the cabinets they are in still take up room. Now if they were on the wall I might get a little excited to see them in the room for more open space but then we would loss the drawer/shelf space.

We have them at home and if Disney doesn't broadcast in HD they are worthless. Disney doesn't have the best broadcasting now and I wonder since Disney is a self contained unit if they have to update to the new HD format alone with everyone else. If they don't go HD save my dues and stick with what they have now.

For the few channels you get I think the reg TV are fine. Of course just my opinion.
