Flames Flames Flames Flames Flames- VENT

WOW that is quite a list. I can see how some came to the conclusion that they did. BTW, I believe I would have has the same conclusion if I had seen all of those.

It could be that she personally doesn't feel that she is being flamed, but just trying to discuss the topic. Remember, she isn't trying to have her personal problems solved. So, perhaps this is just another thought provoking question. ;)

This is the way I see it - unless I'm reading the whole thing wrong.. If I were to come on here and ask, "Should I buy a Honda or a Toyota?" - it's because I'm seeking information - not asking anyone to make the choice for me.. Three days later I may come back and say, "Guess what? I bought a Corvette!!" Does that mean that the info on the other vehicles was of no use to me? Would I get flamed because I did something entirely different? :confused3

I would really be surprised to learn that anyone on these boards makes their final decisions based on "only" the information they obtain here.. :confused3

If you aren't looking for personal answers, maybe you could start phrasing your threads in general terms, and not so specifically tied to your own life.

ITA. Judging by the wording in most of your posts, it sure doesn't seem like you're just trying to provoke thought. If I wanted to know people's thoughts about RANDOM things, I wouldn't say "need advice". Further, I certainly wouldn't say, "My mother said this..." or "my BF did that..." And I, without a doubt, would not bring up any mention of my "wild sexual past."

Your posts do provoke thoughts but, unfortunately, they seem to be less about the subject at hand and more about you.

I'm sorry if that seems harsh, but when you post soooo much about your personal issues, one can't help but arrive at certain conclusions...

Of course you should be flamed for getting the Corvette. I mean, I told you to get the Honda! :teeth:

I'd like to thing that people use the discussion board questions as a way to gather information and then they make the decision themselves. But to post very personal things (in the context of it being personal) and then to say she's getting flamed when people give their opinions (in a non-flaming way, which really impressed me about such an emotionally charged issue as religion) and to say that they weren't really personal, but are just "thought provoking questions" irritates people. Gets confusing as to what she wants.

I do chalk some of it up to being young, but she's not a teenager and I was married when I was her age, so she's not that young.

I'm TIRED of getting flamed!!!!
I just wanted to reiterate something I said on another post:

I consider the disboards to be a great way of hearing the opinions of a whole range of people. Honestly, if I was that worried about something I would be out in the real world sorting it out, not on here posting about it.

When I post here I am looking for opinions on things I think are thought provoking, from a group of people I consider to be intelligent, not looking for solutions to my own problems!!!

Of course some things I have posted are about my own personal problems, but even in those cases, just because I discuss them here doesn't mean (as some have suggested) that I can't deal with them. Sometimes its just nice to here the opinions of others. I'm sure when most people post on here, they are looking for an opinion on their question, not on themselves as a person!

I realise I may have come across as a drama queen or worry -wart for posting so much and I have apologised and explained myself...and I'm still getting flamed when I ask for opinions on things.

For example I asked a question about religion and gave a personal example (to make it clearer what I meant). However, I tried to make it clear that I was looking for opinions on the subject itself, and NOT my own personal example! And yet I got a whole barage of flames for worrying too much! NOT WORRIED ---- REALLY JUST CURIOUS!!! :confused3

I'm sure I can't be the only person who is curious about other's thoughts and is not here because they feel it will solve all of their life problems....

Sorry for the vent, I feel better now!

Now I'm off to put on my flame retardent suit for the replies (if there are any....) :goodvibes

Who cares - seriously? No disrespect meant, at all....

Ive posted plenty of times on these boards, and several other boards. When youre not face to face with someone, people tend to have really big "kahunas" and also stick with the pack...like wolves.

It stinks - you *know* someone out there has the same opinion as you, but wont say anything cuz they'll get ripped on, next.

So, I'm unmarried, "stole" pictures via right click off the WDW site, do my hair every single day and never pull it in a ponytail, Ive even spanked my kids *gasp!* :earseek: ...and I'm proud!

Chin up - who cares! :earboy2:

I know I do. This is why I won't bring that crock pot to use in my hotel room or use that re-refillable mug. ;)

I should really upgrade my broom. I didn't know that they had two seaters now! Trust me, I know of several people who deserve to ride with me! :teeth:

I have read a lot of posts that were flamed and I can't figure out why. Some people I guess can't help but be mean or nasty. It has been happening a lot though lately. I guess you have to take the nasty comments with a grain of salt and go on.

That which does not kill us will only make us stronger.

I agree--I've seen some nastiness lately. I've never been tempted to put someone on my "ignore" list, but I think that I have finally found someone worthy of it. Nobody I've seen posting on this thread, though. :)
