We ate at Flame Tree last year and really enjoyed it. We'd be happy to go back there when we're in AK in a few weeks, but it would also be fun to try something new, as long as it was good! So, if you'd tried both, would you recommend FT or Y & Y? If you choose Y & Y, any recommendations on what to order would be greatly appreciated.

We'll be on the basic dining plan, and it will be DH, DS5, DD8, and me.

This is my first poll, I hope I do it right. :)

Yak and Yeti is kind of like mall food court Chinese. Portions are big, but it's expensive, too. We like Flame Tree better.

this is a no-brainer. The CS at the Yak & yeti serves average to below average pseudo-chinese food. Flame Tree is maybe the best CS in all of WDW

I'd choose Flame Tree over Y&Y, but I'd choose Pizzafari over Flame Tree. Yes, I know I'm in the minority on that one, LOL, but I don't go to Pizzafari for the pizza. I love thier Italian sandwich. :goodvibes

I would agree Flame Tree is some of the best CS in WDW. I loved the ribs, my DD18 had an awesome fruit plate & DS12 had a great smoked turkey sandwich. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the comments and the votes everyone! It seems that a clear pattern is emerging in the opinions. :rotfl:

I see that Y&Y has at least gotten a few votes. Anyone want to speak out in its defense?

I know everyone's tastes are different but we refer to it as "Yuck & Yeti"

Very disappointing.

Well, I'll be the voice of dissent here as far as Yak & Yeti goes, b/c we really enjoyed our meal there and generally I don't even eat take-out Chinese. I prefer to make my own at home.

We didn't have an ADR the day we tried it, but we were at AK when a monsoon hit out of the clear blue. (it was August). Anyway, realized it wasn't stopping anytime soon and needed to get inside someplace (anyplace!) and Yak & Yeti was right there....so we went in, got a table after quite a wait (we weren't the only ones with this idea apparently) and frankly it turned out to be quite a satisfying surprise! We had some type of chicken dish - like a General Tso's style- as well as some dumplings that were so good. The fried rice was generic and bland, but other than that I was impressed. The atmoshphere was so cool too. It was themed like a Nepali Inn. I felt totally transported.

I'm not voting since I think you couldn't go wrong with either choice...just wanted to put in my two cents & stick up for the poor Yak & Yeti.

The problem with this is that you are not referring to the Yak & yeti counter service area but instead the table service restaurant which I have heard good things about. The counter service is mall food court chinese, and not even good mall food court chinese

We enjoyed our meal at Yak & Yeti CS but it is a one time experience for us. We only vistit AK once per trip and we will go back to Flame Tree next time.
