Flame Tree Birds

We love eating at the Flame Tree BBQ or just taking a beer down there to relax because of the birds. Remember, they were really there first and they are natural birds, not anything Disney brought in. They will always be there.

As long as your child doesn't panic on seeing a bird, the bird is just going to do his/her bird things. They will do what any human will do - investigate. We never feed them and discourage others from doing that. And we will always tell a young child NOT to chase the birds. That's not your child that is scared of the thing but you have to realize the birds are relatively defenseless, they can't talk. All they can do when frightened is run.

I'll get flamed but quite honestly, not teaching your children about nature might not be the best thing you can do.

Thankyou for taking the words right outta my mouth! Especially the part about chasing the birds. We love to just sit back and watch the birds all around WDW.
And btw.....I am a reformed Flame Tree bird feeder.

It would be okay if the birds didn't jump on your table and try to take your food, which they do sometimes. Especially the black ones. I do know that some kids are freaked out by the ibises (the white ones with the long pointed beaks) and they'll come right up to the tables as well, because they are expecting to be fed. I've never seen them do anything but approach though. The ducks are so unintimidated that some of them will nip your shoes.

Flame Tree is one of our most favorite places to eat at WDW but for this trip, we plan on splitting up to purchase a meal or two from there and a meal from Pizzafari, and then meeting at Pizzafari to eat. The birds were a little much on our last trip and I don't want to deal with them. Particularly because my toddler does tend to drop stuff and the ducks will certainly stalk us!
