Flame Tree BBQ?

Hi there,
I have a few questions on the Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom. I would love to hear what folks have tried and liked or didn't like, and also I notice on Deb's site it lists open seasonaly, does anyone know what the season is that is it closed? We will be there in December and wanted to give it a try.

we ate there in july and overall it was a good experience. my husband and son enjoyed their choices--BBQ, but i was a little disappointed w/mine. i had the chicken salad in a bread bowl and it had too much dressing for my taste. i would say try it. seasonally probably means busy season; it might be open in early december, but not really sure. BTW, we are going the same time as you all.

We love Flame Tree. They have really good shredded pork sandwiches. They have lots of nice shady outdoor (but covered)seating, which is good at a hot park like AK. I think its a bit more expensive than other counter service places, but we think its well worth it.

We also usually go to WDW in early December. This past year (due to the post 9/11 attendence drop off) was when it went to 'seasonal' status. Sorry, we just don't know if it will be open this December - we're hoping that it will be.

It was open in September when we went the 3rd week. It wasn't crowded at the parks so we were surprised it was open. I guess that means you have a good chance of it being open in Dec, especially since the resorts are selling out.

Pork bbq sandwiches are good there!

We ate at Flame Tree in Sept. We used the AK meal vouchers they have been selling (great deal!). My family seemed to like it but I didnt care for it. The bbq has a different flavoring that I didnt really like.

What are the AK meal vouchers? We are using the discovery Magic wishes, but we won't be using them on the BBQ, since that wouldn't really work out as a deal for us, we are going to save them for a 2 wish dinner that evening.

They have been selling meal vouchers at AK--at the front where you buy tickets and at the restaruants. We paid $11.66 (tax incl)
you get a entre and side, a drink another coupon for a drink and a coupon for popcorn or ice cream.
I had Ribs w/2 side (corn and beans)--that was over $8 itself and I had a drink. Later we got an ice cream $2.50 and then another drink $2.50. They should sell these in all the parks. Its even better than the connection vouchers.

I like most everything at Flame Tree BBQ bujt the BBQ beef sandwich. I like my roast beef thinly sliced deli style and they serve it shredded. I usually get the BBQ checken breast sandwich, corn, coleslaw and then split an order of fries with someone else. The eating terraces at the Flame Tree are my favorite dining area in any Disney Park. It is beautiful.

The meal vouchers are a good deal.Would like to see it expand to other parks.Love Flametree except for them getting rid of the combo platter which gave you a taste of ribs and chicken.

The eating terraces at the Flame Tree are my favorite dining area in any Disney Park. It is beautiful.
