We are going at the end of August and I have heard Flame Tree is good for lunch. However, is it a hot place to eat at? Is there sufficient shade? We won't be used to the heat yet when we go to Animal Kingdom on our second day. I have some gift cards for Landrys restaurants that I could try to use for lunch at Yak and Yeti's but Flame Tree did sound good and we have the regular dining plan that we could use for counter service.

Flame tree has probably the most beautiful setting for eating of all the CS. There are coverings for the tables, and they wind around trees and paths, many next to the water. Pizzafari has indoor dining, air conditioned and beautifully themed rooms.

We ate there last time and loved it. DH even liked it, and he hates all things Disney, except for Le Cellier and the golf courses. Just beware of the ducks. They are pretty brave critters.

I agree.:)

Be sure to go all the way down to the last Patio overlooking the Discovery River.

The view from there of the water and Expedition:EVEREST is one of the best views in all of WDW.:)

love it, I was even taking pictures of the flowers and foliage last time. We enjoyed the food and the nice restful spot

We ate there last week and were really happy with the experience. The eating areas were covered. And I agree to watch out for the ducks!

I always get the ribs form here then walk down to the River where you can sit and see Everest. Its a great place to relax in AK, kinda feels like you are in a jungle or forest somewhere. Ive had the ribs a few times now and they were always good, Ive had the onion rings before and they were great too. If I remember correctly there are trash cans and condiment stations in the back seating areas too. Have fun!

We have been there in August many times. Right next to Flame Tree is a tree and canopy covered patio. Perfect to get out of the sun and have lunch.

NOTE: Easy access once inside Animal Kingdom. For a
Quick Service eatery has surprising good ribs. Possibly the
best ribs in WDW. And, the price is very reasonable
at a tad more than $11, after tax, for a 1/2-slab St Louis
style ribs with beans and corn muffin. However, the pork
sandwich was a little weak on quality. As a side note, the
sandwiches and fruit plate are significantly overpriced and
a poor value if on DDP, but fairly priced if paying out-of-pocket.

My favorite CS and I always get the ribs and DW the BBQ chcken
