Flame tree BBQ..help me out with this scenario

I see you listed the lower soda price, don't forget with the dining plan you can order the large drink (which is $3.29) as part of your QS entitlement. We will share meals sometimes and getting the large drink is nice because we will share that.

I had been eyeing getting the fries w/ the pork/cheese as my "dessert" too when I go in September, so I'll be anxious to hear if anyone is able to do it. As others have said the rules state you can swap out the dessert or drink for any snack item and that has a snack icon, so I can't see why you couldn't.
Good idea about the drink!

I ate at FTB earlier this month.

We asked up front about swapping the dessert for a side and were told yes we could but only for the fries or the onion rings, not the cheese fries. We didn't question it because we were happy with the onion rings and fries rather than the dessert.

I had the 1/2 chicken and ribs and I think I had around 5 ribs on my plate.

On a side note, we also ate at Tangierine Cafe in Epcot and the dessert is only the baklava. No other desserts or swaps were allowed. There are no snack credit sides listed on the menu.

We were at Flame Tree BBQ 2 weeks ago and try to substitute dessert for fries with pulled pork as part of our meal but we were told we cannot. We could substitute dessert or drink for onion rings or fries but not the fries with pulled pork.

However, you can use your snack credit to get the fries with pulled pork.

I ordered full rack of ribs and received two 1/2 rack of ribs. 1/2 rack of ribs consist of 5 bones/pieces. My son ordered chicken/rib combo. They are way too much food. Our family is big eater and we couldn't finish our plate especially since we substituted dessert for fries and onion rings. Don't forget you also get cup of cold slaw, BBQ baked beans, and corn bread. Two adults can definitely share plate if you substitute for fries. We substitute drink for Mardarine orange lemonade which was $3.99.

I'd be tempted to do a push on this one and get a manager involved. Exact wording from Disney's brochure: * May be substituted for any item that is an eligible snack at the location.

That says ANY item, not just whatever the restaurant wants to do. Someone needs to take a brochure with them and see what happens.

Sorry for nit-picking, but this is how misinformation gets passed on...QS entitlement does NOT include a side. It only includes the entree. If the entree happens to be a combo, then you get the combo, but if it isn't, you do NOT get a side. The sampler is a combo and does come with beans, slaw and cornbread. The watermelon salad on the menu is not a combo and you would not get a side if you decided to order it.

I guess I did not have on my thinking cap nor enough coffee when I posted and I forgot to use the word combo... You are right it does not include a separate side, only a side if its a side included in the combo. Thanks for pointing this out.. I would not want to give any misinformation, this was not my intention..

Here is a pic of the menu. They are not even pretending it is a half slab, it looks like a quarter when you compare it to the half/full slab. Both of the combos have smaller portions shown and they do not specifically say what the sizes are, unlike the rib only and chicken only meals.

Looking at this menu is the first I have craved anything since my gallbladder removal on Monday. I have to watch my fat intake for awhile. I certainly hope I can tolerate more fats again by our trip in July. Yum!!!!
