flame suit on!!!

Okay - I have to admit this had got me thinking. We will have 4 paying customers and a 2 yr old so we have to book every place for 5. I have one meal that I just can't get a better time on. 'If' I try for a ressie for 4 and get a better time what happens when I show up with my 2 yr old also in tow? Do I need to be at all worried that I will be turned away???

I think there's a difference in showing up with one guest "missing," (like in the case of the OP), but they're not always going to be able to accommodate a larger-than-expected party because you would physically need more space.

DH and I booked a table for 2 instead of 4....for LeCellier for this Sept. I called on the 180th day ( ast 7am) and got the time I wanted for supper. I did not lie, or deceive anyone. DH and I had discussed this prior to making ADRs and decided to ask for a table for 4 if a table for 2 was not available. We also decided, (in the next few weeks) we will be posting on the Dis.....and ask another couple, who were unable to get an ADR to join us at our table. We thought this would be a great way to not only meet other Dis-members, but also help them out, and keep us honest. :thumbsup2

Good way to do it...a lot of people do not konw that many times tables tops have room for 4 when you book for 2 some are set 3-4 or 5-6 depending on the rest. I promise you this if you ask correctly many time CM's know what you need and can find it. But having 5 and asking for a 4 top can onyl get you in trouble and delay your dinning....I know this sounds crazy....4 people and one infant 4 months old....that is 5 people, remember also they have fire codes and building occupancy restrictions as well. Disney does not make limits just to make people crazy. They do this for obvious reasons. By the way Le Cellier was a rest a few years ago you could just walk up to...the secret is out...the new Tutto Italia, (Alfredos) is one good rest now that it is open....Teppan Edo is also as equally as good as Mitsukoski...Good luck and enjoy

So now on the other foot, try booking dinning for 12 and at 15 resturants all at the same time.

To me, this seems very different. It is very possible that some restaurants may not have room for a party of 12 at certain times. In basically all restaurants that I know of , that would require at least 2 tables. That may not be available.

In the other case- there IS room available for a party of 2. Disney is just choosing not to allocate their table space that way - wanting to get more $$.

I agree with the other posters - Disney isn't being 100% honest in saying nothing available for 2, so I see nothing wrong with what the OP suggested.

It is correct...a resturant can be sold down to the point that a party of 12 can not get in and yet have a table of 2 and maybe even a table of 4 or 6 available.....All tables are accounted for and sometimes the party mix can not be seated beacuse of the times or tables left..it is a very difficult process to handle and keep track of. They do a great job in their bookings of resturants.

Am I the only nerd who has never seen a table for THREE? Wouldn't you need to book for a table for 4 if you really had just 1-3 in your group?

therein lies the problem....some are set for 2 to 4 some are set for 3 to 4 some are set for only 2, or 4. Depends on the rest and it's location and size.
