Alright I'm sure there are lots of threads on this but I don't have time to search. When and where at the WL do you ask about being flag family? And guests at the Villas at the WL can be flag family too right?

We were the flag family when we were there in July. We asked at check-in. They were booked 7 days in advance and were selected on our last day there. It was an awesome experience.

Good luck!

We were also selected and were told to ask at check-in. We did and the day before we were chosen we received a nice letter and a fruit basket delivered to our room with instructions on where and when to meet. It was an awesome experience and some of the best Disney magic we've ever recieved. Good luck.

Thanks! We'll definitely look into it. I'm hoping that since we're staying just over a week we'll have a better chance. It sounds awesome.

We were Flag Family on Veterans Day 2003. All we got was a letter the day before. I would have loved a fruit basket.

We were flag family in Oct 01
No fruit basket but we did have the chance to meet Ranger Stan (wonderful man), raise the flags, see the gorgeous views and got a certificate thats now framed on my wall.

What time in the morning does this usually take place? Don't want to miss our CRT ressie but would love to do this!

Absolutely! :) We were at the VWL in December '01 when we had the privilege of being flag family. There were 6 of us (plus the amazing Ranger Stan) and with it being so close to 9/11, it was particularly moving.

And whatever you do, don't forget your camera -- Ranger Stan will make time for all kinds of photos, and the views from the top of the Lodge are breathtaking!!

how many can they take up to the roof?
can we tell them we'd be willing to let another family go with the 2 of us?

We had the privilege of being the Flag Family on our Christmas trip in 2003. We were there for 10 days and got to be Flag Family on our last morning there which was New Year's Eve day. :flower: When you ask at check-in, they will look and see if any days are open during your stay. There is no way to sign up earlier. We stayed on the concierge level, and I asked the preplanner if we could be booked for Flag Family, and it couldn't be done. On a previous 4th of July trip, we were there for seven days, but all mornings were already taken. If you are fortunate enough to get this experience, it will be inspirational. I can't remember exactly what time we met Ranger Stan, but it might have been around 7:30 or 8:00. Does anyone have a better memory of the time?
