Flag Ceremony

Hi- I was curious if any one knows if guest can "help" with the flag ceremony. My son's birthday is Flag Day (June 14th) and he feels honored by the American Flag. He is 8 now and I thought it would be cool if he could participate in the ceremony at DL. We are going 9/30-10/3.
I have never taken the time to watch this ceremony, although very touching I'm sure it is! After reading several posts here about it, we want to make it a point to watch this trip.

idk if you can help but id go to city hall and ask for that for your sons bday some ppl request rides on the lilly bell so id defenatly ask its at 4pm i think i know were gona watch when we are there im gona get some pics of it

Since it's been the YOAMD, CMs have chosen 2 kids to hold flags and lead the CMs w/ the folded flags down MS towards the backstage area. They do get something for doing it, I think it's a button or something, but I've never seen it up close. I guess you just have to be on MS by the flag pole an hour or half hour earlier to try and get chosen. The kids I've seen get chosen are in that area. It's nice to know that kids these days are still patriotic!

they usually pick the kids before the parade. . . and they usually are in the same group. . . at least that is what we have seen when we watch the ceremony. . my dh is retired navy, so we tend to stay and watch if it is about that time and we are nearby. .

Fabulous, thanks for the info. I suppose we will hang-out in the area and ask the CM's around there. I really hope we have a chance. (maybe I'll have him wear a flag shirt ).
Disneylvrforever: Yes, it is nice to see the patriotism in my son. Ever since he was born we made it a ceremony to put the flag out on Flag Day. He also knew it was his bday, so for a few years he thought ALL the flags were specifically for him
