Fl Tours Limo Service to/from port turns a negative into a positive

Please read down before you make a decision based on our experience. Fl tours has responded and are working very hard to address the situation. We will be heading back next October to do the Disney Eastern Cruise and will most likely be using them again.

We just got back from the Nov 8-15th Magic Western Cruise. It was great! The only not so good part was FL Tours Limo service to and from the Port. We were a group of 7 (3 adults 4 kids) with a good bit of luggage( 11 pieces). When I booked the Limo service I of course told them how many people we had.

When the driver met us he seemed extremely disturbed that we were a large group. He flagged down a baggage handler for us and then took off. I had asked for a stop when booked (they offer it as a perk). The driver said there was no where to stop but at one point I saw a grocery store just off a freeway exit.
He wasn't very friendly and automatically added a 20% gratuity.

Pick up was even worse. Wasn't the same driver. He was even less friendly. We had to put a couple of pieces of luggage in the front seat on the way down so one would assume they would have told this driver we were a large party. BUT NOooo! He was even more disturbed when he found out there was 7 of us. To make matters even worse he showed up with a trunk half full with 2 cases of soda and a case of water. Yet when we got in the Limo there were only 4 hot cans of soda and no water for us to drink. It went down hill from there. If you want all the details ask and I will be glad to add more.

We will not be using them again.

Just a side note. Everyone we talked to on board said the Disney Transfer program (although a little costly) was really smooth.

We went with FL tours with a party of 13 and we had a very smooth experience, much better than with the Disney transfers. They met us at the airport and took us to the Raddison at the port. Then on the return took us to WDW and then the next day brought us to the airport. Always on time and had plenty of room for luggage.

After extensively researching this issue, including reading almost all of the posts on this issue, and calling many companies directly, I have come to the conclusion that there is no limo company that you can count on 100% of the time. We used Happy Limo on our first trip, primarily because they seemed to have the most positive reviews on this board. Well, we had problems with Happy Limo on both ends of our trip. We are planning on using FL tours this time even though some recent messages about that company have not been flattering (most messages have been positive). I suggest that everyone who is considering using a limo company read the numerouse posts on this board and call the companies more than once so that you get a better feel for them. Then, just pick a company based on your research and gut feeling, and hope for the best.

Above all, don't let a bad experience ruin your trip!

I agree with you Discruisers 4. The Limo experience in no way ruined the wonderful time we had aboard the Magic. However, I will not spend the extra $100 for the Limo service vs the van service ever again. It is a pretty quick trip from the airport to the port and all that is really important is being picked up and met timely. Maybe I am old fashioned but when you spend an extra $100+ for the Limo serviece I expected a little higher level of service. The Disney cruise cost a lot more than other cruise lines but they deliver. The service and product is superb.

Will probably use Happy Limo Van service for our Disney Cruise in October 2004. Florida Tours could have had a repeat customer with a little effort but they blew it.

We've always had wonderful service from FL Tours, which is a different company from Florida Tours. The names are certainly similar.

Since you mentioned "Florida Tours" in your last comment, would you clarify which company you used? I'd hate to see any company get a bad rap because of name confusion.

Sorry Dvcreg. I did not know there were 2 different services with almost the same name.

We used FL Tours because it sponsored the DIS board.

I realize that every company can fall short every now and then. I am not saying our experience is typical. However, they did not deliver as promised and as advertised for us. We go to Orlando at least once a year and they had an oppurtunity to have a repeat customer. They blew it.

With so many other choices out there we will be giving someone else an oppurtunity next time.

David,
Learned of your post just a few minutes ago when a patron send me this thread. Wish let me directly.....
First of all, let me say that I’m really sorry to read about you experience with our company. We, at FL TOURS, work extremely hard and do our parts to the best of our abilities to make your vacation go very smoothly. I must tell you; our company has delivered good services to many families and received many accolades from its clients. In nearly 2000 families we took part help kick of their magical vacation over the past year or so, this is the second unflattering comment I read about our company on this board. As someone who is obsessed with a perfect record and trying to make everyone happy however, I wanted you to know that I’m disturb with this and wish to extend to you, should you choose to give our company another opportunity that your next limo transfer would be on us.
Sincerely,
Andy

Hi WDW Menace, did you book one big van for your party of 13 people? How much did it cost you?

Andy N,
It is nice to see a company stepping up and trying to make something right . I commend your effort! We used your company in September and were pleased with the service.

Steve

PS: If the OP turns down his free limo, we'll take it on our next trip:teeth: :teeth:

Hi Andy,
Thank you very mcuh for your generous offer. It is above and beyond and extermely commendable. I will be emailing you soon to discuss. I will also be changing the heading of this post. In retrospect I should have called you first to discuss the service before posting our experience. It is extremely difficult to insure 100% good service all the time. I am in the service business also and I know how difficult it is. Your response is very admirable and consistant with a company that strives to provide the best. Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving

<font color=navy>I also had a great experience with FL Tours (Andy, you can read it in my trip report on the Cruise TR page :) )

I'm glad you're going to give them another chance, alisbarc.

Happy Day :sunny:

We have not used FL tours personally yet, however we booked a limo for Dsis and family as a surprise and they did a wonderful job!! They came highly recommended from a friend of ours. Our friend told us they gave them service beyond what they typically expected.

We have already booked FL Tours for February, and we will be booking them for our cruise in October.:wave2:

Hi Andy! That was a very nice jesture that you have done for alisbarc. It shows that you care about the customer. We used your services both in January (for our Disney Cruise) and in June (for our Disney trip). I believe we had you as our driver in January and had such wonderful service! The driver in June was just as pleasant to drive with. Very personable and informative. We will definitely be using your service again next year for our cruise and possibly for our Disney trip.

Andy,

Just wanted to say that based on your reaction and response to this thread, I've made up my mind and booked FL Tours for our trip in January. It's only one-way, but I had been booked with one of yoru competitors until I saw your response.

Just wanted you to know...

Jenn
