We live about an hour away. Our family is me, my husband, our 11 year old daughter, and our 8 year old son. Santa brought us Florida resident passes!! Santa is so cool!! (Santa really just brought "coupons". The purchases haven't happened yet.)

So - how should we go about this?

We want to start off with a bang, so we'll stay onsite one night (Jan 7-8).

Since we don't have the passes yet - do I buy those online and then book the hotel? Is there a discount at the hotel with a pass? I think I'll get the middle priced pass for my husband (parking, discounts, etc).

Any suggestions about which hotel would be best?

I'd love any tips! My kids are super excited!!

Hi Nancy! Welcome!

Getting the Preferred AP for your husband is wise since you will get the discounts as long as he's with you. Are you getting the Power Passes for the rest of the family?

Florida residents will have to go to Guest Services to pick up their APs the first time since they have to verify proof of residence.

You do not need to have the AP when you check in but will need to show it sometime during your stay...if you want the AP discount.

I can't help you with which hotel since I don't need the hotels. Post a thread on the Universal Resorts board and our experts will advise on which hotel would be best.

If you have any other questions, please ask.

Thank you!

If we go to the hotel first thing Monday morning to park and drop off our bags, but haven't yet been to the park to print our APs, will we be able to get the Express Passes?

Yes, Power Pass for the kids and I, preferred for my husband. He is more likely to take the kids without me than I am without him.

Yes...you shouldn't have any problems with picking up the EPs. Remember...the unlimited Express from the hotel has nothing to do with your park tickets...both are separate animals.
