seems like the FL resident discounts have been gone for a few weeks now … I know they aren’t guaranteed, come and go, etc. was curious if anyone else had any other insights as to what is going on? Holding out hope for a discount on a Dream Merrytime out of FtL …

Lot of revenge travel/vacation funds saved up. Our last cruise (Feb) was the busiest I have EVER seen.
Sailing again soon and it seems to be full also. Pete mentioned on DisUnplugged the cruise bookings
have been crazy.

Makes sense. No need to toss discounts out right now. Well I got like five cruises in post COVID with all sorts of discounts, might just need to be happy with that for a bit …

Coming up on summer season - so probably no need to have FL resident discounts at the moment given that it is mainly all summer sailings and kids are out of school. I wouldn't be surprised if we see them come back for Sept/Oct sailings. Also remember there are still 35% discounts for anyone on select sailings on the DCL home page under special offers.

In the past my wife and I have sailed several times during the Halloween cruise schedules and Christmas cruise schedules.
Some of those trips have either been Florida resident rates or Guaranteed rates.
We have also had some good luck finding those rates in the winter/spring time of the year when the kids are in school.

In the past most of the offers have become available,if at all, within the cruise line cancellation period where if you cancel your cruise you loose all your money. You also usually have to pay for the cruise in full when you book it.

On our last cruise we did a guaranteed ocean view. Disney ended up putting us in a deluxe family ocean view with a veranda.

In the past we have gotten the coveted double window large cabin for a guaranteed ocean view price.
Sometimes you get lucky.

On most of our sailing the reason they do this is, it is off season and they can't fill the ship.
On our last cruise we were told the ship was not full and it did not seam to be over crowded at all.

If you are going to take the chance for a merry time cruise, if you are flexible with your schedule, start looking in the time frame I mentioned above. Look at the cruises a couple weeks before Thanksgiving (just make sure it is a Merry time cruise) and the week before the cruise that puts you on the ship Christmas day.

This has been our experience in the past. Thing may have changed since then. You need to check with Disney cruise lines if you are not sure how the offers, if any at all work and what is avaliable.

Good luck

They usually don't release those discounts until closer to the sailings if they still have staterooms available. If they can sell rooms at full price there is no reason to discount them. We did a 7-night Eastern Caribbean late last September, and it was late July when the discount was listed. So if you're looking for a Merrytime I wouldn't expect to see a FL resident discount until maybe late August at the earliest? And Merrytimes can be popular, so I think the chance is maybe a little bit lower of seeing a discount on those. But you never know!

I'd keep checking back, but I wouldn't be concerned that it's not listed yet; it's still really early.

I was more curious as to why they had disappeared all together. I’ve done several cruises using this discount (including Merrytime) was more curious if there was something else going on that the discount had disappeared altogether… but it’s back now. :-)

Yep I’m holding out hope for Merrytime as the date draws closer.

The FL Resident discount is not offered for every cruise. There may be times that no cruises are offering it, other times you may have several choices of cruises with the FLR discount. It comes and goes depending on what DCL feels they need/want to offer to fill ships.

I’m aware. As I said they had disappeared all together for several weeks which they hadn’t done in a while … my OP was if anyone was aware of anything else afoot.

Having never taken advantage of a DCL FL. Res. discount, I was hopeful that the discount would be attractive enough to lure DW and myself back for a DCL Cruise but sadly it's not going to happen. Still too much for a lesser cruise experience.

And they’re back!
I just saw those! Although I don't live in Florida one of my best friends do. I was hoping she
could catch a resident rate to join us on our upcoming cruise. None of these were the dates.

Very slim pickings!

Maybe I'm missing the point, but I don't see why these are only offered to people in FL. Why are they not offered to everyone, and it's on me to get myself there for the cruise?
