FL Resident tickets and online check-in

Heading down tomorrow and I want to get my ducks in a row

(My ducks have been all over the place through different rates and availability, I have switched resorts from ASMu to CBR to CSR, and finally landed at POR)

I completed online check-in so assume we will be able to go straight to the room. But we have FL resident "tickets" so we need to show our proof of residency and get the tickets activated. Can I do this at the resort? Separate line from check-in?

Also, I have a Disney gift card I want to apply to my account. I'm not sure how that works - can it just be applied and I will pay my room / whatever charges at the end of the trip, or do I need to take the gift card to the parks and use it rather than just using magic bands for everything?

Thanks in advance. It's been 10 years since we did Disney, and a lot has changed!

Maybe, maybe not. Not everyone that completes Online Check In is able to Bypass The Front Desk. Nobody knows how they decide who gets to and who has to stop by the Online Check In Desk.

Sorry, I have no experience with Florida Residents Tickets

Also, I have a Disney gift card I want to apply to my account. I'm not sure how that works - can it just be applied and I will pay my room / whatever charges at the end of the trip, or do I need to take the gift card to the parks and use it rather than just using magic bands for everything?

You can use your Magic Band to charge back to you room. Then every couple days stop by the Front Desk or the Concierge Desk and use the Gift Card to pay off the balance.

The vouchers have to be activated to tickets at Guest Relations either at a park or at Disney Springs. You will need to show the appropriate Florida Resident items then. Nothing can be done at a resort. I've done Online check in at every visit & have never received the room text & we stay at least 5x a year. Also, if you have a credit card on file for the balance due at check in it will be charged to that card prior to arrival.

I've never gotten to go straight to the room either, despite almost always doing online checkin.

You can apply the GC to charges but only after there are some charges made. For some reason a year or so ago the front desk lost the ability to apply the GC to a zero room charge. To set up room charging you have to have a debit/credit card and then a day or aonintoncharging then you can go back and apply the GC to your account.

I personally would just use the GC to pay, but I'm not one who finds the band to be convenient in any way.

Thanks guys!

We are going to Disney Springs tonite, so I can do the tickets there. I do have a card on file for the room balance so I guess we will just swipe the gift card until it is gone and then start magic band charging. Shouldn't take too long to use it up with 2 teenagers!
