Hi

I read the sticky and I think I can do this...but I'm just trying to make sure.

I want to buy a 1 day FL Resident ticket, go to the MK for the day and then possibly upgrade it to the FL Resident 3 day ticket later. If I'm reading right, I think I can do this as long as I upgrade the ticket within 14 days of use...right?

Thanks!

There is no specific "1 day FL Resident ticket."

from the Ticket Sticky:
The cost for a one-day base ticket is not discounted at the gate. There is a small discount for online purchases in advance. However, the rates for the Hopper and WPF&M options are set at 50% of the non-Florida prices.

But, whatever ticket that you DO buy, yes, you can upgrade it.
An upgrade is considered to be any ticket that costs more than the ticket that you already have.

In some cases, Florida residents have up to six months to upgrade tickets.

This can be done.

There is one minor change that will be updated shortly in the sticky.

Any one-day Florida Resident ticket purchased online with pre-arrival pricing on or after August 5, 2010 will not be price-bridged when it is upgraded. So if you got the 10% discount you will lose the effect of that discount on any upgrade which adds days.

In which cases does a Florida resident have 6 months to upgrade?

The 3 day and 4 day pass only. They call these passes while the 5,6,7 day are called ticket and can only be upgraded within the 14 day window. We used to buy the 1 day ticket for FD package. Upgrade to a 3 day pass once we arrived and depending on how many days we went to the parks we either upgrade a 3 day to a 4 day or to a SP or AP. You can add a day to a 3 day but only 1 day after that you have to make it a SP, AP or PAP at FL resident discount of course.

Another important note that 3 day and 4 day have 6 months before expiration. 5, 6, & 7 day tickets expire 14 days after first use.

You might consider buying the FL Res select weekday pass (might not have this named exactly right) you can only go on weekdays and most of summer is blacked out but it is a super deal....seems like it is only in the $160 range.

Another thing you can consider is upgrading the one day ticket to any level of Florida Resident Annual Pass (weekday select or higher) using the Monthly Payment Plan. The down payment is at least the value of a one day, one park, ticket and your ticket would qualify as the down payment. There are then twelve equal installments charged to a credit or debit card.

when mine is up next time, I might change from SP to a weekday one. I usually go weekdays anyways. nice to take a day off and enjoy the lower crowds due to locals in school
