Fl Resident Ticket Question and Staying on site

I have our Florida resident "exchange certificates" in hand.

Our trip is in April and we will be staying at the Pop Century Resort.

I know we have to show our Florida Drivers License to "exchange" the cards for tickets.

My Question is this -

It states in the letter that came with the tickets, that the exchange can be done at the ticket and transportation center or main entrance of any park. I was thinking that since we are staying on property that we could avoid standing in line to get the real tickets. Can someone at the resort "exchange" the tickets for us there - or do we have to make the trip over to the ticket place at a park and do this? If so - we arrive one day before our real vacation begins - can you exchange the tickets without having to go inside the park?

Resident passes and annual passes cannot be activated at a Resort. You must go to any Park (including water parks, TTC, and DTD) ticket or Guest Relations window to activate them.

Do you know if one could go there the day before their trip to activate them, or must you wait until the day you arrive at the park. We check in to the resort the day before going to the parks, and I was hoping that we could stop by a park the day before and get all of that stuff taken care of. This way we could avoid standing in line just for them to look at our id.

You can activate the day before.

The activation is the process of giving you your physical ticket. You are not obligated to use it immediately and could do the activation the day before.

Though I am not sure when the clock starts ticking towards the expiration date -- if it is activation or first use. So by activating a day early, it may expire a year from that day instead of a year from the first day you use it. Cheshire Figment would know for sure.

Thank You!!!

Expiration is not a problem with us, we have 5 day tickets and we will use everyday of it :)

We are finally at a point in our lives that we can travel, this is our first big trip, so believe me - we will use every bit of it LOL.

How does this work with Magic Bands? If we bring the tickets to be exchanged at the park, do they just put it on the Magic Bands instead of giving a physical ticket? What if they are already showing on our MDE account? I've been to Disney many times before Magic Bands, but for some reason, I find this Magic Band thing mind boggling!

If have bands than yes they will "go on the bands". Nothing really goes to the band it just pulls information from the servers housing your MDE information. Once you hand over the paper your tickets become active in MDE allowing entrance to the parks with your magic band.

May I ask where you obtained 5-day Florida resident tickets? I have only ever found up to 4-day Florida resident tickets.

Martin

No you may not ask, because I made a boo boo there - our stay is from the 16the to the 21st, and we will be in the park 4 days, not 5.... sorry.

But I would think you could get tickets for whatever length of stay you wanted? We just called and told them our dates and next thing you know we got an email confirming it.
