I was just looking at the disney website and came across Florida resident seasonal pass. We are Florida residents but live about 3 hours from Disney. Do any of you have this pass? Is it worth it if you live 3 hrs away? We'll probably only go on the weekends or every other week. What about the blockout dates? I'll purchase if you think its worth the $680.00 it would cost my family. :confused3

I buy one every year. It depends on how often you go and what time of year you go. For me, I normally go on the dates that are not blocked out anyway-so that is not an issue. Also-I average about 10 or more days in the parks a year, so if you divide the cost by the number of days you will use it, you can see how much you will save. Check the blackout dates online before you buy. One of the best things about it is you can park hop too. Take that cost into consideration when comparing the prices. You also get discounts on other things such as rooms, disney dining experience membership, etc.

PS-I live 3 hours away too.

Have had the pass for years. It's great if you plan to do more than 1 trip a year to WDW. The blackout days vary year to year, these are usually dates that there are PEAK crowds, so we'd avoid those dates anyway. You can check at the official Disney site (FL resident) section for details.

As far as whether or not it'll be worth it for your family, that's up to you. You'll have to make that decision and "do the math". Let's put it this way, if you plan to visit more than 1 time a year for more than 4 days or so it's probably worth it. (we average 3-4 trips about 4 to 5 days each trip)

If you're not sure if you'll do more than that one trip go for the 3 day FL resident pass without the added options and you can always upgrade to a FL seasonal AP if you return within 6 mths of that trip (it will activate as of the first day you use your 3-day pass). Again, check out the official Disney site for details.

we've dropped down to two SP's and one AP. with parking now at $10.00 per day, the one AP pays for itself with the upgrade. we don't go near the parks during the blackout dates anyway, because they're peak times.

our Sea World/Busch Gardens and Universal AP's are much better values, but we still renew our WDW passes.

We have it. I think we're sitting at around $5 per day for my family, but we are only an hour away from WDW, so we go over a lot.

For my family, the blackout dates aren't a big deal, since we wouldn't normally go then anyway. I do have to say I was missing WDW by August though.

APs (even SAPs) come with some additional benefits: 1) AP room rates 2) dining discounts in many places 3) 10% discount at DTD World of Disney store 4) discounts for many shows (including MVMCP and MNSSHP, plus occasionally La Nouba) 5) discounts on mini-golf, marina rentals, etc. plus more things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

One thing you DON'T get with SAPs is free parking.

Overall, only you can decide if it's worth it for your family, but it is for mine!

It's worth if for us! We make about 6 trips a year.

It is worth it for us as well. We have had the annual pass and the seasonal pass. With the price increase for parking we may do one ap as well when we renew, for those times that we stay off site. They have been worth every penny to us.

I also agree that the BG/SW and US/IOA passes are better values, but we end up with all of them anyway!

I get a seasonal pass every year, I just renewed it for $207. I try and avoid going during the summer or super busy times so blackout dates are fine for me especially since I have full annuals to the Sea World and the Busch parks, as well as the Universal parks. The only thing about the seasonal passes is the parking fees aren't included so if you go like twice a month you shoud spring the extra $$ for the regular annual pass to avoid paying for parking, I think this year with parking getting to $10, I'll be upgrading to a regular annual pass, probably before Christmas to be able to go the week and a half seasonal's get blocked for christmas!!!

I got seasonal passes one year, and upgraded - we live close and are there almost every week Sept-May -but stay away when it's really crowded unless something special is going on or we have visitors, and it was not worth the difference to have to pay parking. We are spending lots of time in the parks this holiday season (aka black out season - usually about the 18th or 19th of Dec through Jan 2nd or there abouts) -so next year when DD requires an adult ticket am considering one of each to cover parking with the AP! If needed I will upgrade at a later time if we need entry during blackout times

We have the Florida Resident Seasonal pass, second year for us. We go 3 to 5 times each year so we save on the tickets, we get discounts on the resorts too so that save us alot as well.

We also live 3 hours away, Naples FL

We live about 2 1/2 hours away and have seasonal passes. We love them, most of the time we book a night at the resorts when we go up but occasionally we do go on a day trip up. We go about once a month when they are active skipping the summer months and more during the Food and Wine Festival and Christmas season. We find that Disney is the one place both DH and I can forget all about work and just enjoy the time together so we don't even worry about how many rides we do, we like to try something new each trip, could be a new food, restraraunt, or show and are slowly working our way through it all. One of our favorite things about them is the feeling that we don't need to cram it all in because we can keep going back. If we did more than a couple of day trips a year we would upgrade one of our passes to an annual for the parking discounts.

I am just under 3 hours away & have had one for years. I use mine all the time. I am considering upgrading one pass to an AP so I have the free parking now that it went up to $10. I stay onsite most of the time, but as much as I go, I do stay offsite at least 10 days.. and that would be the price of the annual for the free parking. I would keep the kids (adult kids) with the seasonal AP's

We live about 4 hours away and have had seasonal passes for probably 10 years. They are perfect for us because we visit at least once a year for a week and then a few weekends throughout the year. The blockout dates don't bother us as those are the time periods in which we don't visit since it's so crowded. I would definitely recommend the seasonal pass!

We had this when we lived in Florida -- we were 2 and a half hours away in Jacksonville and we used it all the time. We even went down for dinner and fireworks at Epcot a few times. And many times would wake up on a Saturday and say "let's go to disney..." We loved it. And as a previous poster said, we wouldn't go when the blackout dates were in effect anyway, because we didn't want to deal with the crowds.

Definitely worth it.

We live an 1:45 minutes away and have had our seasonal passes since they were available. It's worth it if you go often enough. We go almost evey other weekend, except for blackout dates of course. For us the pass pays for itself. The blackout dates aren't a big deal to us since we wouldn't go anyway during those times, too crowded. So, in my opinion, it's definately worth it if you think you will go there enough times during the year.

We live closer to 4 hours away and we go about 3 times a year for about 3-4 days and we have found it to be worth it and just bought another seasonal again this year.

we also get this pass.

It is definitely worth the money. The cost of one is equal to almost 4 one day park tickets. if you think that you'd go more than that through out the course of the year, than get it!!

We usually start out as seasonal pass holders. if something comes up that we are going to travel there during a black out period, we just upgrade them from seasonal to annual. the difference is about the cost of 2 one day park tickets.

we live only about 3 hours away too. we have family in orlando who are also passholders. so, sometimes we go and visit them and then hit the parks.

we've became habitual disney goers. everytime there is an event we go. Star wars weekend, ESPN weekend, flower and garden festival, food and wine festival, super soaps weekend, mnsshp, mvmcp, or just because it was a 3day weekend and we needed a disney fix. so, we well get our money's worth out of it!! if disney didn't offer that pass, and we had to pay for tickets each time, we wouldn't go as much, maybe once a year only - especially with the price increases.

guess we're just plain old disney addicts.
