I have a good friend that lives in Tampa, is it possible for him to buy our 2 day 2 park passes to Universal with his FL resident discount? Will they require a valid ID at the gate when we try to use them? Does he have to drive to Universal to get the Tickets? Thanks so much!

Well I don't believe they are transferable so you are not supposed to be able to get them bought for you. That said I don't think they always check I.D.

As for whether he has to go or not. Publix around here sell the tickets so I would imagine he can get them from there.

You may even be able to buy the tickets yourself on the internet and electronically pick them up. Idk if they check ID or not.

A better way is if you know someone with an annual pass to buy them. They get 10% off and sometimes they offer 50% off and allow you to buy them for friends and family.

Thats the best way of doing it..:thumbsup2

yes, your friend can buy the tickets for you. its no problem. i'm a fl resident and buy tickets for relatives when they come in town. you don't need to drive there to buy them. they can be bought online and you can enter who the ticket is for so if they did ask for ID...it would have your name on them anyway.

So although my id is TX i would only have to show that I am the person the tkts were bought for?

The 'official' check to see if you're a Florida resident is the billing address for the order. Doubt there's much they do about the names on the tickets?

I read that FL resident Tkts purchased now will expire March 31, 2010, Is this due to black out dates? Why do they expire??? Will more be available for purchase after that dates has passed?? Thanks for everyone's help so far. Our trip isn't until September so I can wait for a new batch of FL discount tkts if they will be available again.

interesting question, was wondering the same thing, seems like I remember the Fl Rest. rate available online all year last year, could it be they'll just update it after Mar.??:confused3
