when they used to do the "Play 4" passes for fl residents, they used to allow the holder to be able to take that pass and upgrade it to an annual pass, if they chose to do so, by only paying the difference in the passes. They would allow you to be able to upgrade until 30 days after it expired. This is how dh and i initially became passholders. we recently went with some family members that are wondering if they could do the same thing that we did using the new passes.

does anyone know if they will allow this pass to be upgraded? what about being able to add the no-expiration date to them after the first date of usage?

any info that anyone can help us out with would be greatly appreciated. :cool1:

I was told by the cm on the phone that we could use the cost of the passes towards an annual pass. I did not get any details.

The 3 day Play Pass is very similar to the old Play 4 Day pass but there is one big exception. You can no longer do the upgrade for 30 days after the pass is used up or has expired. That's primarily due to the availability of the no expiration option at an additional charge that can be put on the 3 day Play. You didn't have that option with the old Play 4's.

The ticket can be upgraded to a FL resident AP/PAP/SP at any time prior to the six month time frame that comes with this ticket. Your entire purchase price will be credited and the AP/PAP/SP will be backdated to the first use of the ticket.

After the 6 month time frame and assuming you put the no expiration option on it, then you have a regular ticket exchange situation where they will apply the dollar value of the unused admissions towards the price of the AP/PAP/SP.

If you have not put the no expiration option on and the 6 month time frame passes, your ticket is then worthless. It cannot be traded in nor can it be used any further at the parks.

Yea, and I find its not fair. I just came back from WDW and had to buy the 3 day Fl. pass AND had to add on Park Hopping feature, which brought my total to 164.00! :sad2: Now, I get home, after USING all 3 days up, and find I cannot up grade to a Seasonal or AP cause its USED UP! :sad2: Not too thrilled about that, I spent 164.00 extra, and now I have to spend more on a ticket the next time I go! :sad2: Fl. Residents DO NOT get a break now, thats for sure! :confused3

You can still upgrade even if it is all used within that 6 month period. Your Seasonal/AP would back-date to the first time you used your 3 Day Play.

i TOTALLY agree poohbear! although, i am a passholder, i think that for fl residents who wish to purchase a ticket, they ended up getting a raw deal with the magic your way passes. it used to be 4 days for less than the price of 2. it was wonderful for those who have large families.

the magic your way plan works out GREAT for non-residents, but for fl residents who go there often, it is not such a great deal. especially being that the play 4 passes were going up so much every year.

however, i will say that if you are a fl resident who doesn't come that often, and were they type that you didn't use up all of the days before anyways, it is good because now there is the no-expiration option. so if you are the type that you would only use 2 of the days, but don't want that extra day to go to waste, you could add that option. even better for the non-residents, if you buy extra days for the purpose of using on your next trip, and add the no expiration option, it works out in your favor. expecially since prices go up every year.
