I also was not asked for any proof when getting my FL only license. I just needed my MA license (which we could keep), my SS card (my kids used Birth Certs) and $20.00.
I did have my mortgage papers ready just in case.
I would have some sort of proof though as the clerk could ask.
I was able to get appointments in Daytona Beach for DW and I on one trip in less than 1 wk and for the kids at Winter Park (next trip) in the 1 wk time frame, on the other hand, the Deland office was booking appointments for 6 weeks from my call (nothing earlier). If you can't get an appointment for the time you need, try another office.
