FL or other knowledable DISers--driving to WDW from S. FL

HELP!!

I will be driving from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando for an upcoming trip. Everyone I have spoken to has told me, "Take the turnpike, do not take 95." That's all very well and good, but what is the route number for the turnpike. Every map engine wants to send me 95, so I am trying to get directions on the turnpike, but need the route number.

There is no route # that I know of Deb. It's called The Florida Turnpike....

Different sections may be called different names. Try this link for those names:

So, near Ft Lauderdale, it may be called the Sawgrass Expressway.

No Sawgrass Epressway is not the Florida Turnpike. They are different. Basically take Florida Turnpike to Osceola Parkway and take that into Disney. I-95 is a PITA.
The link is to various other parts of the turnpike system but they are not the Florida Turnpike. They run off the turnpike.

Debster - do you have Triple A auto? If so you can go into your local office and request a trip tk and when you make the request tell them that you want to avoid I95 in Fl.

Deb,

I usually take I95 to Fort Pierce and then the Turnpike the rest of the way. If you get on the Turnpike at Fort Pierce the toll is only $6.50.

We take the turnpike from Ives Dairy Road/Honey Hill Drive to Osceola Pkwy and get off at the end near the McDonalds.
