FL High speed train/ Brightline

As I was reading about phase 2 of the high speed train from south Florida to orlando/mco with possible stops being added for WDW and thinking about what a game changer this will be. We will be able to fly into diffrent airports catch cruise lines out of Miami or even just take the train from MCO to Disney. I really cant wait 2022 will be here before we know it.

This is exciting, but don't count on it opening in 2022. Last I heard, the company was estimating end of 2022 for service to MCO. Everything they've done up to now has been behind schedule, so IMHO that may slip into mid to late 2023.

They've said they hope to have service to WDW "shortly after" MCO, but that's part of the Tampa extension, which is still in the planning phase. Even if they fast track the MCO to WDW segment, they apparently haven't yet settled on a WDW station location, and no construction has taken place beyond their maintenance facility at MCO. If they go with the earlier proposed route, at a minimum they'll need to upgrade existing trackage out of the airport, build a bridge into the median of 417, and lay new tracks along 417; plus the construction of a new station serving WDW.
