FL AP question

My DH is a Florida resident. I'm not. He's able to keep his residency because of his military status. So he's thinking of getting the FL AP. Would we be able to book a room with an FL AP discount, when only 1 of us has the FL AP? Thanks for your help.

I have not done it personally, but i believe the answer is YES, only 1 person is required to have the AP to get the AP rate.

Yes, he has to book the room and show his id at check-in. They don't care who is staying with you. My sister came with me one time, I am FL resident, she is not, I booked and paid for the room. Take advantage of the FL rate if you can!

Sure, in fact I book the rooms for myself and parents who are in PA with the AP rate and fla res rate.

Yes, if he's going. If he is getting an ap, check out those rates as well. I'm not too familiar with military rates, but I think there are some room discounts as well as discounted tickets ( for family members as well) available.

He's going. I wish we could do a military rate, but we're not going until December so they won't be available for us. I'm checking into the AP rates

Maybe the Mil rates will be extended have you priced SOG? Also, try the little trick that many have done to get a PIN, go to WDW site pretend to book a vacation for when you want to go, save it. I received a PIN 2 days later!! We ended up using a Bounce back discount (5% more for us) It's worth a try! The GP room rates have been extended through Mid Aug, not the AP or FL res though - not yet at least - I thought that was weird.

We can stay onsite cheaper than we can stay at SOG. Plus, you have to pay for parking on top of renting a car at SOG.

We've tried the whole saving vacations and so forth, it hasn't worked for us as of yet. We're not in a huge rush to get it all booked, but we're looking at all of our avenues on ways to save.

I have another question.

If we book the room with an AP discount, will we still be able to get the DDP? DS and I will need to purchase tickets, but will probably do that through our military base or SOG. Will this cause any type of problems?

Yes, you can add the dining plan to AP room reservations. I usually book online, and there a button to click, and it shows you all the dining plan options. It just won't be FREE dining . . . .
