Five Vincelettes are Going on a Trip!

I came over here from Lady Lallie's PTR. Your daughters are soooo cute and I love the picture of them in the princess dresses. :rotfl2:

Chef Mickey's breakfast is good. We've mostly done dinner in the past, but we got a late breakfast ADR when we went in April. It's awesome because they have a little bit of everything.

I love getting all the ME documents and tags!!! I, too, will be taking pictures of them as soon as we get them.

Looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

Welcome! I am so glad to have some visitors! :wave2:

Thanks for the kind words about my daughters! They are something else! princess: princess:

I think Chef Mickey's will be a great way to end our trip-one last chance to say Good Bye to the characters!

Also followed you over from LL's trip report! Great start and super cute kiddos. Can't wait to read more! My only comment so far is that you are brave for a doing a morning ADR the day you are checking out. I'm always so slow moving that day!

Welcome! The more the merrier! :grouphug:

It may be brave-but our flight is not until 2 p.m. ME will pick us up around 11 I guess, and we weren't going to a park. We needed something to do-and we love to eat!:rotfl: Besides-the kids don't really sleep in...especially Ruby and Jo.

See the previous post-it seems like a good way to end our trip!

Oh man, we're going to be like ships passing in the night! We arrive the morning of the 30th!

Oohh-Your first trip!?! :woohoo: I remember ours-I really didn't realize how much I loved Disney (or how obsessed I would become) until AFTER the trip was over. We had a great time, but it took some time for it to sink in I guess.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL time! I think the thing that worked best for us was to remember to take it slow-to not try to do EVERYTHING! For our family, we just try to enjoy what we are doing when we are doing it.

We went at the beginning of February in 2007-it was a great time to go. The crowds were low and the weather was beautiful. It wasn't warm enough to swim, but it was mid 70's most days. We only had one day with some light drizzle-and it was our last full day. ENJOY!

I see that a couple of you who have posted are from Massachusetts-My husband was raised in Springfield, and his family all still lives in that area. Where are you all at?

I'm originally from Maine, but I live in the metrowest area outside of Boston. :goodvibes

Springfield is about 2 hours from where I am--I'm a few miles north of Boston. I had a friend that lived around Springfield, in East Longmeadow, so I used to drive past the basketball hall of fame on the highway and was always mesmerized with how it was lit up at night. :rotfl:

I forgot to tell you how awesome it is that you are staying at WL! I intend to visit it at some point during our trip, just because all the pics that I've seen of it are so beautiful. You're getting so close!!

Oh how fantastic! Yep it's our first trip to WDW, but I grew up in so. Cal. going to Disneyland and am fully immersed in my Disney obsession. :rotfl: Now it's time to drag the hubby and kids along with me! DH has never been to anything Disney before... EVER. It floors me each time I think about it! We're all just so dang excited!

I have things to buy before my trip. I am so scared I am going to forget one of these, yet at the same time none of them are necessities. I thought I'd make a list:

1. Disney Pin Lot from Ebay-I am going to do that today. Faith started collecting on our last trip, and now Ruby wants to do it too. I think I am going to buy a lot of 30, split it between the 2 of them, and then they can trade for pins they want to keep at WDW.

2. A new stroller-We bought an umbrella stroller to take last time, since Jo was only 8 months old and we didn't want to take the big one. We still have that stroller, but it is a little worn. Plus it came from WalMart and when we were in WDW in 2007 there were TONS of people with the same stroller! :rotfl: I have a stroller picked out-it is sort of the midsize model-folds small like an umbrella stroller, but a little bigger. It also reclines a bit so it will work better for naps.

3.New shoes-I don't really need these, but I'd like to have a pair of sneakers or walking shoes that are brown. Mine are black, and I have a new outfit that I bought (an EPCOT outfit I told Faith) that needs brown shoes.

4. New shoes for Jason-had a teensy argument about this on New Year's Day. He wants shoes but doesn't know exactly what he's looking for-I got annoyed when he picked up a pair of ridiculously ugly shoes that he'd never wear-I KNOW he picked them up b/c they were on sale for $30!! So, now he says he's not getting new shoes and that he'll just wear what he's got:headache:

5. I am thinking of arranging a SEGWAY tour at Fort Wilderness for Jason to do alone (if there are any openings available.) Do you think that would be a good surprise??:confused3

I have to run-time to do some :laundy: Especially since J and girls are outside raking and I am inside on DIS! :lmao:

I just read somewhere that another Mom picked up a lot of pins on ebay and then just gave her kids one pin each morning so it felt like a new souvenir each day. I thought that was a good idea. I think I read it on princess&her4princes TR.

I think a Segway Tour would be a great surprise! :woohoo:

Here are my latest developments:

1. Ordered 30 pins from Ebay! :cool1: I can't wait to see which ones we get.

2. Booked the Segway tour:woohoo: -I was worried there wouldn't be any opening since our trip is so close, but I had no problems! Hopefully my husband appreciates his surprise!

3. I think I am going to go with the Winterland MiniGolf. I asked the opinion of a fellow DISer that I knew had been to both MiniGolf sites. She seems to think Winterland is the most kid friendly, and I trust her opinion! Thanks, Tiggerbell-if you are reading!

4. Only NINETEEN DAYS! This is how I feel: :cheer2: and :scared: at the same time-I am at the point where there is not much more to do to get ready, and yet there is SO MUCH TO DO! Does anyone else ever feel that way, or am I the only nutcase in this place?

I think that feeling is pretty normal among us DISer's. It's just overwhelming after all the planning we put into our trips.

I think it's so awesome you were able to book the Segway for your DH. :goodvibes

Oooh a segway tour. I'm so glad that you were able to book that--I think that's a great surprise. :thumbsup2 We're doing one on my sister's 16th birthday when we go next month, and I'm SO excited for it!

Only NINE more days! I can't believe it!

I will try to post some pictures either tonight or tomorrow. I have a few things-the pins I ordered, which were very cool to get; a new suitcase; pressed penny tubes I "made"; tip envelopes; I think that's it.

I'll post an updated pic of the countdown calendar, too! I am very excited. I also printed out buy one sundae get one sundae free coupons for Ghirardelli's. We didn't stop in there on our last trip-but my family LOVES ice cream. (Well except for me-I think it is okay but much prefer cake!)

Wow, single digits! Awesome! :yay:

I am with you--I like ice cream but I'll take cake over it. Ghiradelli sundaes, though...I will make an exception for those.

There's a Ghiradelli store at a mall near me, and my sister and I went in there and got a really yummy drink to share (it was honestly more like a dessert)--it was white chocolate raspberry, and had white chocolate chunks in it and raspberry sauce. They have other flavors, too, but if you like chocolate, they're worth checking out. Might be a good drink to share with your hubby; my sister and I shared a large, I think, and would never have been able to finish it by ourselves. Really, really good and VERY filling.

I can't wait to see your pins! I'm going to buy some down there--not trading, just buying. I'm committing to only buying one from Pop Century (since that's where we're staying), one from each park, and one from each of my favorite rides. I will make an exception for Nightmare Before Christmas or Wall-E pins, though. ;)
