Hello, experts -- We are almost at the 180 day mark before our April '15 trip and want to start making meal reservations so we need to figure out our daily park visit itinerary. Any help would be most appreciated! Our flight arrives on a Monday at 12:40 and we leave the following Saturday (unfortunately during spring break!) on a flight around 6 pm. Our daughter will be 8 (she's mostly over her princess obsession) and our son is celebrating his 5th birthday while we're there! We're staying at Port Orleans and got the basic Dining Plan and the regular (not park hopper) park tickets for 5 days but can increase to 6 for a nominal fee. We're trying to figure out which parks to visit on which days and the best order for the optimal Disney experience for our kids. They are early birds so we told them the last night they can see the fireworks and the parade at Magic Kingdom but otherwise, they will go to bed by 8 pm at the very latest. Thank you all so much for your suggestions and guidance!!!! :rotfl:

Since you are going during an extremely busy time I suggest you get to the parks when they open. During Spring break the parks especially MK reach capacity very early usually by 10:00 a.m. at which time the limit which guest can enter the park because of the crowd level. So plan wisely.

Excuse an English girl, but how do you know it's Spring Break? Online the colleges in Florida say spring break 2015 is in March.

Just curious because I'm going the week after you x

The Department of Education for local public schools posts their calendars almost a year in advance so we were able to book last spring for next April!

Spring breaks vary widely, but are primarily during March and April. The 2 most common weeks for spring break are the weeks before and after Easter.

Usually colleges have spring breaks starting the 2nd week of March ... They last a few weeks. Other schools in the US vary...a lot. Anywhere from mid March-end of April. Disney is usually VERY busy for those 7 weeks.

What are your exact trip dates? Knowing which specific dates you plan to do park days will help in recommending a park for each day along with restaurants. :) With 5 park days, is there one park you'd like to spend two days at (magic kingdom maybe?). Do you have park hoppers? That will make a difference also. :)

We will be arriving on Sunday, April 5th at 12:40 and leaving on Apr 10th around 6 pm. We think our kids will probably like Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios best so we'd like to visit those more than once. We did not get the park hopper option. My kids will most likely go to bed around 7:30 so we're thinking sit down lunches or early (5:30) dinners except the last night when they will stay up later. I can't thank you enough for your guidance and suggestions!!!! I'm so appreciative!!!!

There are crowd calendars and predictions to help you plan which park would be best on which day at easywdw.com. He even explains why he chooses which park so you can understand it instead of just saying something arbitrary. The predictions can change based on many things but I would set an itinerary and let it go. After you get your ADRs you can only change so much.

We loved Crystal Palace breakfast and we liked having a late (10:20) breakfast so that we could take advantage of the first opening hours when the parks aren't as packed. Plus, the characters didn't have as many people to see and they came around very often. We were there the week before the week before Easter and crowds were at 7's 8's and 9's. The parks were packed by about 11am. So, arrive at opening (or before).

I think you'll have great weather- warm and little chance of rain. I hope you have a great time.

We are going around the same time as you. We only have a five day base ticket as well. We are going Sat 4/4 (arrive at 4pm) and we leave on a 9am flight on Saturday 4/11. We made our plans by magic hours:

Sat: No park just dinner at 1900
Sun: AK sit down dinner at tusker house for lunch
Mon: HS sit down lunch at prime time and dinner at sci fi
Tues: EP sit down lunch at coral reef
Wed: MK sit down dinner at BOG
Thur: EP Sit down lunch at Askerhus
Fri - Downtown disney day - lunch at T-Rex and dinner at Ohana

We chose no sit down breakfast's cause our kids (6 and 9) are going to want to just go to the park ASAP.
