This is probably a stupid question, but our little guy is starting T-Ball this month. We went to purchase a glove for him and have no clue how it is supposed to fit?

We got there and there are sizes like 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5 etc. They seem all fit his hand, but how should it really fit?

How old is he?
The smallest players generally need the smallest gloves.

Parents never want to do this because they want a new one -- but honestly you would be doing him a favor if you would go to Play It Again Sports or another Used store and buy him a glove that is broke in and easy to bend. Basically you want him to be able to open and shut the glove easily. It is very hard to catch a ball if you can't squeeze the glove shut. If you really want a new glove, the Pre Oiled kinds break in the fastest and become more flexible fairly quickly. You might want to play catch with it yourself for awhile at first in order to loosen it up.

When he gets older, you can invest in a higher quality glove that will last him a couple of years.

I did a quick search and found this website. It might help you a little. The bottom line is your son needs to try on many gloves and go with the one he likes the best. Don't let the the salesperson try to persuade you into buying anything your son doesn't like just because it may be popular. Don't rush. Take your time and make certain your son likes the fit and feel of it and like
you will see on the website below take a ball off the shelf and toss a few balls to him with each glove he is considering.
