Fitted Sheets at DVC?

We've been bringing our own fitted sheets lately. Housekeeping NEVER seems to get the bottom sheet on properly. Usually the mattress is exposed at the foot of the bed.

When I put on our fitted sheet, I take their bottom sheet and use it to 'triple sheet' the bed - put it over the blanket. It is more sanitary and gives a more deluxe feel to our 'home'.

that is a good idea Mary Ellen!!

Just don't take a white sheet. Too much chance of mousekeeping taking it by accident. My DB likes 'bath sheets' rather than towels. SIL brought some very nice dark blue from home for a YC/BC stay. Since they were close in color to the SAB pool towels, mouskeeping removed them from their room. They never did get them back. Now, SIL buys the fugliest colored bath sheets she can find to take to WDW.

We stay at BWV so I have light green fitted sheets to coordinate with the decor. I've also machine embroidered at the head/foot ends:

Property of [our name]
DVC #xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
please return if found

Since the kings sheets are almost square - but not quite, it is easier to make the bed knowing which are the ends vs. sides. It is covered by the blankets/headboard it doesn't detract from the appearance.

Thanks, Pluto4Pres & DVCGirl49!

Always had this problem - it wasn't a BIG problem - but didn't know that there was a solution, much less two!

Went out to BB&B and picked up a pack of each - I'll report back after our SSR trip as to how each one worked.

actually, I have heard of a reason for making a bed - it helps with dust and mites:eek:
But if you change your sheets often enough, I'm not sure how much of a problem those things really are

as all the burnt skin peels off quicker feeding these guys.
What's a fitted sheet.

Just a quick explanation. I think hotels have flat sheets for two reasons. One is that they are easier to launder and fold, and the other is that the elastic does not stand all the washings and hot water needed for a hotel. We would be paying for new sheets every month at that rate!

Just to make you feel better, I have noticed that the sheets at DVC resorts are the very fine very high thread count ones (800-1000), and those are VERY expensive sheets. They are also very comfortable because of the high thread count, and I am quite sure they outlast the others. Hope that explanation helps. I so love the high thread count sheets, that I don't mind having to readjust the bottom one in the morning when I make the bed.

And to add one more reason to Diane's list: they only have to keep one kind of sheet (of a size) in inventory. Good to hear that they are high quality....
