FITS and park hours question

We are arriving at WDW on 9-22. I see that disneyworld.com has posted that the MK hours are 9-8 and that FITS starts at 8. Does everything close down at 8 for FITS or are some rides still open during the show?

If you are at least in line for a ride by 8:00, you can still ride. I've ridden the Speedway during FITS and it was breathtaking!
