My husband has been asking me what I want for Christmas and I'm thinking of asking for a fitness tracker. I've read lots of reviews on the FitBit Flex, JawBone and the Garmin. Any suggestions? Which one is the best value in your opinion?

There's new models released every month...

For myself I bought the FitBit One. I wanted something subtle that I can put in my pocket. Battery last something like 10 days. It also tracks your sleep, I spend too many long nights here in this forum.

These things are great, especially on DCL cruise ship sea days when you might not be active enough when running to the buffet.

There's also the upcoming version which offers a special incentive if you miss your goals.

I started with some FitBit Zip, but found myself leaving.it in pockets or forgetting to pick it up in the morning. I switched to a Flex over a year ago and still use it daily. I love it. Great customer service, too. When mine stopped working last month, they sent me a new one for free.

I got one of those FitBit... I think it is called Flex, it is the one that you wear on your wrist. It is a pretty fun and cool little gadget. I just feel kinda bad some days because it shows how inactive I have been.

The only issue I seem to be having w/mine is the band is starting to come apart. This may or may not be normal. I bought another band off Amazon for like $5. I am waiting til this original band gets worse before I start using the new one.

I use the fitbit zip. I like that one because it isn't noticeable like the bracelet versions. It just clips to my pants. If I am wearing an outfit if it would be noticeable then I clip it on my bra (in the center).

I also use a Garmin GPS watch for biking, running, kayaking, etc. Basically anything where I want to see my route or pace. The watch is nice because I just hook it up to the computer and it shows the route.

I have the Fit Bit One, I like it better than the Zip as it has the rechargeable battery. Don't care for the Flex as it was somewhat difficult to buckle/latch. The Disney Magic Bands are actually much easier to put on than the Flex. :)

I have the Fitbit one and really like it. I'm making much more of an effort to move during the work day while I'm wearing it. I feel better overall and have list about 20 pounds since the beginning of August. I do have a lot more to lose but this is working so far to keep me motivated. I like the fact that you can challenge friends to help keep you motivated.

We have the Fitbit Flex and we love it. Not only does it track our activity but you can also set alarms to vibrate silently and that is really good for me. I take a lot of meds so I don't have to wake hubby up at night. I wouldn't want to be with out it.

For my birthday last month my husband surprised me with the VivoSmart by Garmin. I love it!! I wear it so much that only take it off to charge, every 5 days or so. I am a swimmer and runner/walker and use it for that. But I also just use it to track my sleep, steps, time, etc. Oh, and you can see if you have a text (and can read it on there) and a cell phone call as well. It will vibrate when you get one :) It's super easy to use and is really light weight as well. I don't even notice it's there now. When he bought this one it was only available through Best Buy on line since it's super new. That may still be the case now.

I have had my Flex about a year and a half. I just had to replace my band over the summer. I got them at Target in cute colors!

Wanna go cheap? A friend suggested Noom Walk. I'm currently running the Android version on my Blackberry Q10.

I found results very close to my FitBit One.

A little tip when wearing devices in your pocket. I did a test and noticed devices worn in a shirt pocket can report numbers 30% less than in my pant pocket. It appears the spine or your body absorbs the walk motion from your legs.

I just washed my fitbit one - it didn't survive. The customer service from Fitbit was amazing - I have a new fitbit flex as a result...no clipping it to clothing and forgetting it is there now! I don't live and breathe by the calorie counts, but it certainly makes me aware of when I do not get enough movement in on a busy day. Love the fitbit.

I have the Fitbit One and love it. I don't want a wrist one as you have to move your arms on the Fitbit wrist models for it to count your steps. People say it doesn't count when pushing a stroller or a grocery cart. Some people do wear those on their ankles or shoes to get steps to count better. I clip my one to my waistband and never forget it. I do also put on my shoe when going on my daily walk. I think it is your own opinion on what works best for you.

I love the fitbit though...as others said great customer service.

I bought the Fitbit One a couple of months ago and I love it!! It definitely keeps me moving. If I don't get my 5-6 miles in everyday I can't stand it so it's been a great motivator!! :goodvibes

I have a FitBit Flex and love it. The only issue I have is when I clap for an extended period of time, for example at a play or concert, the motion seems to engage the sleep mode so I have to remember to take that off. A particularly bad grocery cart (all the bouncing and shaking) can do that as well. Other than that, I absolutely love mine! Really gives me an idea how inactive I am some days!

I purchased the Fitbit Flex a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I only take it off to charge it. I love that I can track my sleep with it along with the activity. It definitely makes you aware of how much activity you are getting (or lack of activity).

Look into the Misfit Shine. I got one in gold and I love it! It syncs with Apple and Android, and it works with MyFitnessPal for calorie counting. It's also completely waterproof (it's metal) and it will track swimming and biking activity. You don't ever have to take it off, you can even shower wearing it. It uses a regular hearing aid battery that has lasted me 6 months and counting...

I bought a fitbit zip last month and was happy with it. But it started bothering my skin where I cliped it to my bra strap. Then I read online about others having problems and decided to return it. I have a step counter on my iPhone 5, it was similar numbers to the fitbit. I had read that the iPhone was not as accurate. But the two trackers were close.
