First time staying at the VGF. I know there is a spa, but is there regular fitness equipment for complimentary use? Specifically thinking about a weight machine. My 17 yr old son wants to work out during break.

Thanks. It said "Spa and Fitness Center" but there wasn't really any mention specifically of the fitness center part and nothing in the photos, so I wasn't sure.

I make sure to at least look at the building once a day, makes me feel more fit! :-)

I use the gym daily at home and on vacation. The last two times I was staying at VGF, I went to the "gym", if that is what you want to call it.
It is very small, smaller than a cruise ship gym. There are treadmills, some elliptical machines (I think, I run on the treadmills) and very few machines.
It will get the work done that he may need but nothing more. I honestly was a bit disappointed. Not even a rowing machine.

We looked at the Spa and Fitness Center yesterday. The Spa is amazing, but small. The Fitness Center is a separate door over to the right, and you get in with your Magic Band. I am pretty sure that both Grand Floridian magic bands and Poly magic bands would work. The fitness center has a great selection of Nautilus-type machines (but some other brand) and is quite large. When we peeked in, it was empty, but I bet it gets busier during non-park hours.
There is an outdoor basketball court available as part of the Fitness Center.
The Fitness Center has no restrooms or locker rooms - they are not allowed to use the restrooms in the Spa. But the Beach Pool is not too far away, and you can change and use restrooms there.
I wish I had taken a picture.

You are correct, the Poly bands also work at the GF gym. I used it when I stayed at the Poly last year but the gym is very small. Maybe you
were looking into the back mirrors that made it look bigger? It's small but has some basic equipment.

It is bigger than the weight room at my country club. Maybe it seems big because I never use it.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My son says he wants to do a little lifting over break, but we'll see if that actually happens!
