FITBIT? Has this been discussed?

I just bought a fitbit One yesterday... While I have a highly active job (very walking intense), I don't think I actually "earned" the 20,878 steps it counted for me today. The 14 flights of stairs I definitely did, though!

I've recalibrated my walking and running stride lengths, so hopefully that will help tomorrow as far as accuracy goes. I'm pretty sure I didn't walk 12 steps in my sleep, after all!

Question (and sorry if it's been covered already), when you update your profile activity to driving, when does it remove those "steps?" At the end of the day?

I just got the fit bit flex today. I have been wanting one but heard the flex was due out in May so I waited until it came out. I like it much better as I can wear it on my wrist 24/7 and don't have to worry about clipping on to someplace and losing it!

Ok, so after falling off the Fitbit wagon, I decided to get back on today. Went for a walk (short one until I feel better), came home and sync'd it and then went to enter the activity into my WW tracking tool. Everything had reset to 0. All my steps and my time. It was like a whole new day. Checked to see if maybe it put it on yesterdays, but no luck. Stupid thing. :headache:

Mine started doing that too about 3 weeks ago. Now instead of switching over at midnight, it just resets to zero at random times of the day. In addition. I had 4,500+ steps at around 1am (it reset midday) and when I synced it the next day it only showed 2,700 steps for 1 day and zero for the next day. So it's not even saving everything it records. Several of my friends said they had issues with theirs and bought new ones. I guess I didn't realize when I bought it that I'd be paying annually.

Interesting. Mine is pretty new. It was a replacement for one that went through the washer and dryer. :rolleyes1 I did have to fully recharge it this morning so maybe that had something to do with it? :confused3

If it's doing this, I'd be contacting customer service. They have a good reputation for replacing defective units.

Hi everyone my DD15 and I registered for the GSC today - so my fit not goes back on tomorrow .... It's been about four months since I've worn it, but I think it will get me motivated to get moving again! A gal can dream......

I am new over here so Hello to each of you!!! I have had my Fitbit for a while and am looking for friends to motivate me. My login Name is Adak429. I would appreciate an add if you have a chance. I tend to wear my fitbit only when I exercise and really have to change that in order to get a true indication of what I am doing each day. Looking forward to getting to know you and a little friendly competition.

I did try to join the Dis Friends group. I hope that is ok!

Joining the fitbit bandwagon! Hubby bought me the flex last night as an early birthday present! Now going back to read all the posts here so I can get some tips!

I also joined the DIS group so hopefully I did that right.

Hi Des, good to see you. :wave2:

I have used the Ultra for about a year or so, always have it with me. It really shows how your days can vary, from almost nothing to energetic. I also use the Fitbit Aria scale, makes tracking very easy.

Always keep the Flex with you, you will be amazed.

Hey there Dan! :wave2:

Yea I'm really liking it so far. It really appeals to my OCD self and making sure I meet my goals! I think I'm really gonna like this!

Hi everybody,

I am seriously considering buying a fitbit and was hoping you might be able to help me answer some questions. Sorry, these are a bit specific because they mostly pertain to operating the device while abroad (I am German but would like to use the fitbit also when at WDW, or on Disney cruises).

1) How often do you have to sync the fitbit, in order not to lose any data? Can the fitbit be left alone without syncing for a week, a day, a 24 hour period, ...?

2) If you are syncing the fitbit with a phone via bluetooth 4, does the phone have to be in online mode for syncing? We hardly ever go online (= take our phones out of airplane mode) when traveling in the US because the costs are really quite high with our German phone contracts. I was hoping that the syncing would work while the phone is offline.

3) Is there any way to manually add data (steps walked, etc) on my fitbit account - so in case I lose data due to not syncing often enough, can I just note the data off my fitbit screen at the end of each day and then manually add the info to my account later?

4) And one last question for those among you who have used both the Zip and the One: How important would you personally rate the stairs-counting feature? I would really love to have it since we have recently moved to a three-story home and I would love to be able to track those stories, but I also think the 40€ price difference a bit steep just for that feature alone (not interested in using the sleep-tracking features).

Thank you all so much, and best regards from Germany,

Annichan

1) http://help.fitbit.com/customer/por...ync-my-data-from-my-fitbit-tracker-every-day-

2) I just put my phone (Galaxy 4) in airplane mode, it would not sync.

3) You can add manually, on a computer, not your phone app. I suppose you could log into your account in a browser on the phone and add though.

4) I had the Ultra and just upgraded to the One. I do like the stair feature. It is on both.

Good information here.....

Thank you for the info (and sorry for not replying sooner, I wasn't online for a few days), especially the bit about the phone not syncing in airplane mode has been really helpful! I do think I will get the One instead of the Zip, as I want to track those stairs.

I am missing my FitBit terribly! I have injured my right heel and decided to try to rest it while on our annual camping vacation

Just got the Flex yesterday. Still trying to figure it out. Like Im past 20% to my daily goal and its not lighting up.

Just lost my fitbit.

I was at Costco and realized when I got to the car it wasn't in my pocket. We went back and walked the whole store and parking lot but no luck. I left my name and phone number and the fitbit has my name and phone number on the back. I am hoping that someone will find it and call. :worried:

Oh NOOOO...I am so sorry to hear you have lost your FitBit! I sincerely hope that someone finds it and does the right thing....Fingers crossed and Prayer said for you...

 I would panic! When I lost mine, the night before going to WDW :scared1: I got one at Best Buy that night.

I sure hope someone returns it! :worship: Sending positive thoughts your way!

:sad1: Just called Costco and nothing has been turned in. It could have been kicked under a pallet and in that case might not show up for weeks.

DH said to just go buy another one. So now I have to decide if I want another Fitbit One or to get the Flex. I am not really sure that I want it to be visible all the time. I like that it goes in my pocket. Of course in the 9 months I have had it there have been quite a few "near miss" incidents where I could have lost it or it was missing for a few days, and a few "almost washed in the pocket of my jeans" incidents so maybe the Flex would be a better choice for me!

I wish it had a watch face so I could just replace my watch with it (yes, I am old fashioned and still wear my Mickey watch!)
