FITBIT? Has this been discussed?

I got an email from walgreens that you can link your fitbit and get points for them. There is also a code for $10 off $50 10off50.

Just wanted to let people know drugstore .com is offering 20% off to new customers. I just ordered a fitbit one for 80$. I can't wait to start using it:-)

Is there a code for this? I've been debating and this would push me to get it!

I have heard so much about FITBIT. Need to get my own! It's getting to be so nice outside so there's no excuse to not be active!

I think I asked the same question 10 different times before I got my Aria scale. I just could not decide. My previous scales (all of them) would weigh different amounts depending on where they were sitting on the floor. Just bump it & you would get a different number. Sometimes just stepping on & off would show different numbers. It became a game moving the scale around to find the "perfect" spot :rotfl2:

My Aria pretty much does not do that. I can weigh 4-5 times, moving the scale all over the place & 99/100 of the times the number is the same. :thumbsup2

Body fat % does seem to change. After I am done, you just go in & delete the weights that are extra so you only have one for the day & you are set!

I would highly recommend it. I think I have had mine for about 2 months now. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I retract my recommendation for the Aria scale. For the first time since I got it, I did not like what I saw this AM :lmao:

If you google search drugstore .com coupon code it's at the top of the page. When you click the link it takes you to the website and automatically adds the discount.

I've been thinking of getting a fitbit. Does it have any monthly fees or any other hidden costs after purchase?

Nope! Batteries, if you get the zip. I get ~3 months out of one on mine, and buy them on eBay for an average price of about 75 cents each :) No fees for the website etc. you will need access to an Internet connection though.

:thumbsup2 it sure can! Mine has cost me several pairs of new athletic shoes, new workout clothes. Entry fees to several races. Cost to attend a running workshop. Cost of a ChiRunning book. Already had a gym membership, but it could cost you that if you don't have one & want to get one. I know several people that have purchased treadmills! Some people pay for Zumba classes. I have not yet, but am thinking about trying a class. The list can go on & on depending on how motivated you get & what you decide you like to do :rotfl2:

But no direct costs from Fitbit itself unless you sign up for their website Premium Membership. Very few people do that though.

My fit bit has me at 100 stairs climbed and 50 miles walked. Which is great and all, but I have been in the car all day (driving to WDW) !!! How do I fix this.

I know you can go on the website and log an activity "driving" for the time that you were in the car and it will override your steps & stairs. Not exactly sure how to do it as I don't log activities, but you definitely can do it! Check the general or help message boards, it is a topic that comes up every once in awhile & there are probably step by step directions on how to do it. If not, if you post the question on the general message board I am sure someone will give you a detailed step by step answer if you need it.

But no worries, it can be fixed :goodvibes

ENJOY your trip! pixiedust:

So, if I understand correctly, the fitbit mainly measures walking activities? Is that correct?

I'm really leaning toward getting one, but I do zumba classes a couple of times a week, so thought maybe it wouldn't do much good for that?

I love that it syncs with My Fitness Pal (which I use), so I just can't decide.

Yup - it does, but it measures steps, so it is great for Zumba. And Zumba I have heard does give you quite a lot of steps :thumbsup2

How easy is the wireless sync to an Iphone. I have a 4S and am thinking about about buying a fitbit zip. (I don't care about keeping track of when I sleep).

Easy. Just download the fitbit app to your phone.

I love my fitbit! I've had it for two months now and just got my hot air balloon badge the other day. The only thing I don't like is that my husband has one also, and even though I consistently have more steps and stairs, he has lost way more weight! He has dropped 15 lbs. and I have only lost five pounds! :sad2:

We have the aria scale too. Once you are registered to the scale it will know it is you even if you don't have your fitbit with you when you step on. I can't figure out how that is possible!

:scared: I thought I had lost my Fitbit! I have been sick over it since last night. I went to take it out of my pocket to charge it and it wasn't there! I looked all over and couldn't find it. This morning I was ready to go back to everywhere I went yesterday to see if I could find it but at the last minute I decided to dump everything out of my purse, just in case. And it was in the bottom! :woohoo:

I have no idea why or when I put it in my purse! I always keep it in my pocket/clipped to my waistband. The battery was low yesterday but I kept it in my pocket so I would charge it when I went to bed like I always do. I have my phone number on it as my 7 characters but with the battery low anyone that found it wouldn't be able to see it. I think I am going to put my name and phone number on the back of it.

I have had the same scare! I typically attach the fitbit to my bra or jog bra. That helps so much because I see it when I change. In the past I have put them on my waistband and almost put it in the wash. It's so light and small, it's easy to lose track of!

I have two places I allocated to put the fitbit when I'm not using it. That helps me some too.

I have also input my phone number in the fitbit. But I like the idea of putting it on the back. I think I'll do that too!

Glad you found it!

I recently discovered this thread! I bought a Fit Bit Zip about three weeks ago and I LOVE it! I've always been pretty good about getting out and walking at least four or five times a week, but with the Fit Bit, I'm finding I have to get out every day and get my steps in.:)

My personal goal is to walk at least 10,000 steps every day, and I usually end up doing more. I find it to be a great motivator. Every day is like a challenge. I find myself parking further away from stores, walking up and down every aisle in the grocery store (whether or not I need something from a particular aisle) and walking to nearby restaurants and shops rather than hoping in the car.

I clip the Fit Bit on first thing in the morning and don't take it off until right before bedtime. Have to get in every step!:)
