I just bought a pair of fit flops for our trip in May after reading great reviews. They don't seem as comfortable as I had hoped, but perhaps just need some breaking in. I'd like to hear some feedback from anyone who has worn them at Disney....

******update******

I exchanged the pair of size 7 that I got for a size 6 (usually I wear 7 1/2), and they are much better. I've been wearing them as much as possible, weather permitting, and they feel great! I don't think they are doing much as far as toning goes, so it's a good thing that isn't why I bought them! I can't wait to bring them to the parks!

I used to swear by Fit Flops... not for the toning properties but because they were comfortable. They did need about a week to break in. I wore them everyday for a year (I live in Southern California so weather isn't an issue), including frequent day trips for Disneyland. They worked for a while.

Be warned, though, they stretch out after a while. I can't wear them anymore.

I am also interested in hearing feedback on FitFlops. Like you, I had planned on buying them soon based on great reviews I have read here!

Definitely size down if they seem a little snug when you try them on. Thank goodness a nice lady told me that when I was trying them on at DL, because they were snug and I would have gone up a size. I went down to the snug size and was worried, but they stretched out quickly and are almost too lose now that I'm a little concerned about wearing them too much/stretching them out too much before our next WDW trip.

I had some but returned them - I have an extremely high arch and they kept rubbing at the top of my foot. After a couple of weeks I just gave up. I didn't want to develop a callus at the top of my foot!

I love mine. They haven't stretched out any, and I've been wearing them for a year. Wore them for a week straight at WDW and for the first time ever I didn't get any blisters.

Love my Fit Flops - have walked with them all over WDW, Washington DC, and NYC. Best and most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Have 2 pair, but wear one of them much more than the other. Have been wearing them for over a year and no problems at all with the strap stretching out.

BTW, I do not recommend the 'clog' enclosed shoe that the company sells. It has the same Fit Flop sole, but the top of the shoe is very stiff and unforgiving. I was hoping to be able to wear it for my 'winter' shoe during cold weather, but do not like wearing them very much.

Bought my first pair on a girls only weekend and my friends thought I was crazy, but I didn't care. They are very comfortable. They didn't take any time to get used to. Bought my 2nd pair while at Disney in 2009 (bronze with the Mickey icon). Wore them on that trip. I also wear them at the beach for walking and I go for walks in my neighborhood with them. I haven't had any problems with them stretching out or breaking them in. I will admit that they have only gotten more comfortable!

love, love, love mine! bought the bronze mickey ones last year at dtd. wore them once we returned home and they were snug at first. they did stretch a little to accomidate my feet, but are fine now and still fit. i wore them and wore them until i had no choice to put them away for winter. boo. lol i did take them to disney last month and was greatful. my new sneaks didnt get broken in enough, so one day i switched to my fit flops and did ak. they were very comfy to wear around and i had no issues. i dont reccomend buying them there and breaking them in there however. i also snagged the black mickey ones last month and they're waiting for our weather to warm up a bit before being put on. i did find them harder to find this trip, but found them at hs, and mk but had to ask both if they had bigger sizes, all that was out was size 6. the contemp gift shop had them too. the mickey ones are 49.99/95?

I love my Fit Flops!! The are VERY comfy. I do think the best thing for WDW walkng is athletic sneakers.

I don't think they're gonna work for me :(
They feel like they would be comfortable, but they just don't fit right. I have a narrow foot so I got the Pietra style which is narrow, but they still seem too loose. I feel like if I was walking a lot (wdw) they would end up bothering me. I think I might try the reebok easy tone flip flops.

Love them - bought my first pair before we left for vacation, wore them for a few weeks at home and they were perfect for the trip.
Then I bought a pair of the Mickey ones at the resort and tried to wear them to the Parks the next day - BAD idea - they definately need time to be broken in before wearing them for an extended period of time.
I wore them for *normal* walking around at home - I think my Mickey ones are ready for our next trip. :)

They sound great but do they work, do you see a difference in your legs from wearing them?

Funny...I just posted on another thread that these are the best WDW shoes (at least for me). I have worn mine all over WDW and haven't ever had a problem - no pain, no blisters, nothing. They truly do have the support of a tennis shoe. I agree with the other poster who said to size down. I have two pairs and I haven't ever had a problem with them stretching and I wear them all summer long. However, they tend to be long in the front, so that is why I sized down. They're adorable and come in many styles. Hope they work for you!

I didn't see a difference in my legs and they never made my legs sore, but I have plantar fasciitis and the Fit Flops and Sketcher Tone ups are two of the few brands of flip flops that I can wear all day without pain. For me both are good, but the Sketcher Toneups feel just a tad better. I really prefer them over the FitFlops. I have two pairs of each, but seem to reach for the tone ups more often.

I love Fit Flops:goodvibes I got my first pair approximately 4 years ago and they made many trips to WDW. I find them to be the most comfortable for me to wear in the parks. I do not think I notice much toning but my legs are not as tired as they are if I wear my sneakers. My first pair was getting pretty worn so last trip I bought a pair of the bronze ones. Loved them so much that later that trip when I got a coupon for 25% off, I went back and bought a pair in black. Heading to WDW in 2 weeks and both pairs will be in my suitcase :cool1:

Ooh! Where did you get your coupon?

We ate at a counter service (I think it was Cosmic Rays in MK) and at the bottom of the receipt was a coupon for 25% off but it had to be used before noon and only at one store in each of the major parks or DTD. I can't remember exactly which stores but I know it was good at World of Disney because that is where I used the coupon. Not sure if they will be giving out the coupons again but every once in a while they do.

Nice to know about coupons. I'll definitely look close to my CS receipt on our next trip. I started wearing my fitflop about 2 years ago and didn't really notice for toning and all that but they are comfortable. I'm definitely taking one or two on our Sept trip. It's too hot to wear sneakers and regular flipflop would give me pains after a few hours. I think they are definitly worth it but I would love mickey one.

I have the Skechers Toneups and they are amazing. I have worn them on long walks and they are super comfy. On my latest trip to WDW I wore them all day at MK with no problems. You do have to break them in though, it took me about a week.
