I need to find something to keep me accountable and am thinking about getting a fit bit…So, I thought I would ask...
Do you have one?
Do you like it?
What don't you like?
What do you love?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ya.... yes both me and DH have one. We got them just after the new year. My first one did not work so I had to get a replacement. We have the Fitbit One. Like that you can just clip it on (have mine clipped to my bra strap) and it is unnoticeable. I like that I can check it all on my phone if I choose to do so (DH doesn't have a smart phone so he does all his syncing etc via the laptop). I don't like the fact that I am less active than I thought, although I cannot blame anyone but myself. You can add friends to your "group" and I think it would help me along, however I don't know anyone who has one. So in a nutshell, so far I like it! :goodvibes

I have one. Actually just got my replacement today. Get this ... mine fell off my pocket while I was checking out my new college campus last week, and the company sent me a brand new one. For free. I just have to set it up and I'm back in business. :)

I love it because it's easy to carry and it just works. It syncs with your computer or your Android/iPhone, and the log software is easy to navigate once you get used to it. It also links with sites like Endomondo to track activity. Although I think I would have sprung for the watch band one that actually shows the time (I forget the model name) instead of the One that goes on your pocket or waistband.

I have the Zip and I love it!!! I clip it onto my pants pocket or bra. I ordered a bracelet one but felt it was too big/much for me but I need to wear a certain kind of watch for work so it was a bit much.

I don't think there is anything I don't like. I love seeing how active I am and "competing" against a few friends. It is amazing some days how inactive I am. One friend lost 90 lbs and the other 50 lbs in about a year and they owe it to their Fitbit (moving more) and watching what they eat. I would like to lose 10 or 15 lbs but I don't step on the scale so I should say I want to drop a size as I can measure that.

goofysticthfan-you can PM me and we can try to add each other. I think I need your email to send you an invite.

Thanks Amy.. that would be great. Would be nice if we could get some of us DISers together on FITBIT group!

It would be nice to have some DISers. I think you can make groups. I have a couple friends from high school and another Disney bride. It is motivating. We got a dog on Thursday so I know I ail be upping my steps :)

You know, I think I might get a fit bit if there was a DIS group to join - I don't personally know anyone who has one.

Heather-we can be friends on there. I am sure Tracey will too. I don't know if you have seen the display but on the side (of a certain screen) it lists your friends and it is ranked by the most steps in 7 days. You can send messages, smily faces etc. Send me a PM with your email when you get one and I will send you an invite to be my friend. I am really surprised with how much I love my Fitbit (zip).

I been thinking about getting one too, just not sure which model I want.

We could start a Facebook group

Awesome - thanks! I'm looking at the Force. I like the fact that I can use it as a watch as well. My professor tends to get upset if you wake up your phone to check to the time during a lecture, so that would help.

A Facebook group sounds great. A nice/supportive group.

The wrist ones are nice. For the price I have been happy with my Zip. I know Best Buy has them

I love my Fitbit Force. :)

I have the Fitbit Flex. It is great now that I've gotten back in the habit of using it. You can sync it any time during the day with a free app on your phone. Mine in particular tracks how many calories burned, steps take, miles walked, and minutes you've been active, and it also has a sleep tracker. It works pretty well and you can sync it with other apps too, like myfitnesspal, runtastic etc. So for the price it does its job and it helps you keep track of how you are doing throughout the day, that way you know if you need to take a lap or two around the office to hit your goal. It also is great because when you link it to myfitnesspal it adds extra calories that you've burned so you are really more in control and knowledgeable about the amount of calories you can be taking in. I'd say you get one. All of them do pretty much the same thing. I just like the flex because it hangs out on your wrist :)

I have the One and love it. I guess my only complaint is that it's not waterproof for those accidental launderings but the rice bag saved mine. My DH just ordered the Force as he didn't want to clip to his pants and he likes so far

I have the FitBit Force. I got it for Christmas and it took me about 2 weeks to actually set it up. It's easy to use and I love the dashboard set-up on my account.

I like that it works as a watch and the buzz it makes to let me know I hit my step goals for the day. I also like how it tracks my sleep.

I don't like wearing it all the time. Even though it's on my left hand it still is annoying when I type and it hits the desk (I don't usually wear a watch). It also doesn't do a good job tracking stair steps.

I will admit (my fault not the Fitbit) is that I'm not doing a good job being accountable. If I haven't hit my goal I'm just kind of like "uh - tomorrow." And I haven't been tracking my food like I should. I used to use Sparkpeople to track my food and I usually had to enter a lot of items myself. However, Fitbit has a huge library of food items that it's easy to log my food - I just have to do it!

I'd love to add some friends to my group!! Maybe that's what I need!!! I don't know how to do it but the interface is user friendly so I'm sure I could figure it out!

There is a DIS group on the Fitbit site! It is not very active, so I would love some more people to join that like to post more! I wish the Fitbit site had a search function to find groups. I'm on the site as Blue Sky. Hope to see you come on board...it would be great!

I am happy to add/be added to anyone who wants to be DIS fitbit friends....
Trying to get the motivation to shed some lbs for our April vaca...

Feel free to email me at thedallevas@comcast.net

I will start on Monday and will add the DIS group and goofystitchfan to my group! Maybe that will be the motivation I need!!

Will people in my group get to see my activities and food diaries or what? I've not added anyone yet so I'm not sure what people will see? I'm fine with everything being an open book but was just curious?

Butterfly thanks for the info on the group. I went on and signed up with them too!

Loveshak can't see anything "personal" weight etc, but can see steps.
