This is our first trip home to VWL. We've been to WDW about 10 times and I usually plan details for the trip, but for some reason I haven't done much planning for this year's trip in July. I guess it's just that I don't know how much to do,i.e., dinners at the villa or go out; no more early entry-which park to go to and when? DH isn't a WDW lover, but I want this trip to be the best ever since we joined last July. Should I go ahead and plan park days as usual? How are the parks these days with EE gone? Or now that we are DVC members, forget plans and just go with how we feel for the day? Any advice from all you experts is appreciated, especially since July 14th is quickly approaching! Thanks

hi: we usually still plan a few "must do " ressies, and we usually all agree on those for the most part. the one thing we haven't been able to do (lack of prior planning on our part) over the last couple of trips is make ressies for chef mickey's once we're there. as far as eating in the villas goes, we've never made a dinner there or used that white stove decoration. actually my dil used the stove for hot water for her tea once. we usually get breakfast foods, some lunch items, snacks, fruit, and drinks to have in the room. just by having breakfast in the room, you save a couple hundred over the course of a week. our youngest is still a teen (completely hollow-stuff with food) and usually brings a friend or two.

I think you still need to plan. Even if that means planning for your stay at the VWL. Plan your meals. At your villa, fast food or a PS? I really think you need to plan for the parks as well. Better to plan and change it, than not to plan and be diappointed.
