For those who like to play dress-up...

I am planning a fundraiser for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. I am hoping to hold it in the private meeting/dining space at The Seas at Epcot (It's a really amazing space...huge views of the main aquarium) on the Sunday before Gay Days begins (May 27, I think it would be). The event will be black tie and the ticket price will be in the range of $200-300 per person.

I am just beginning the planning so don't mark your calendars yet, but if you are interested, please let me know so I can include you in the head count and keep you informed as planning proceeds.

Wow - good for you - you go!
I heard she was just going by Hillary - as in "vote for Hillary"- to establish her self as independent of Bill.

Wish I could be there. I am in the moment watching Chris Matthews do his usual anti-Hillary spiel. I wonder from where the bad blood between those two really sprang?

It's true...here's what her campaign button looks like...

I would definitely be interested in finding out more about this, as your plans progress. We're locals, so are flexible with dates.

Cheers!

What do you guys think about the gentleman who gave the rebuttle to the SOTU address? He was smokin! Anyone know anything about him?

Jim Webb is a freshman democratic congressman from Virginia. He is a Vietnam veteran, former Navy Secretary, and has a son currently stationed in Iraq. He rocked the hizzle, in my opinion.

I was like "Thank god...finally!"
Sing Out, Louise!

Is there somthing in the water down there???? Please dont tell me you think hillary can actually win.:rotfl: She is perhaps the most polarizing woman on this planet. The MAJORITY of Americans are clear, straight thinkers and can see right through her. Just because she may raise the most $$ doesnt mean she will win the nomination. If she is the nom, the Republicans can run an empty clam shell against her and win. She is the female version of john kerry. That being said, she has more of a chance than osama obama, or whatever his name is. No, the dems need to realisticaly look at Edwards as the nom, he is the only one with a shot.(and why is that?) After 2 years of pepsi pelosi, America will realize they gave into the media mind washing and get us back on track. I like President Romney....ill also take President McCain.....not sure about Guiliani. And hey, lets not rule out President Jeb Bush, he still has time.

The Republicans are going through a period of canabalism after the mid-year election losses and increasing disillusionment with the Bush administration. The Iraq War and other looming security threats are not helping matters. The GOP is a party in serious trouble and the inevitable clash between moderates and conservatives during the primaries will not help matters. Hillary is a viable candidate.

I am not set on any one particular candidate at this point and will scrutinize all of them carefully. And yes, that includes considering Republicans. The current administration is beyond despicable, but I will not hold that against the Republicans who have tried to hold Bush accountable (Hagel, McCain, Giuliani) and spoken out against the religious zealots.

In your case, I'm making an exception and increasing the donation to $1000 if you'd like to attend.

Meanwhile, please save your nonsense for your fellow "clear straight thinkers" who believe that the republican vision, as it currently exists, is really what the majority of people in this country wants.

Yeah! What he said.
Go bang your republican drum somewhere else.
Maybe someone will join in :sad2:

And good luck with that "President Romney" thing - talk about flip-floppers!

That was a very fair response. I enjoy debate with educated indivduals. I work for a very liberal tv station up here in Boston and i see on a daily basis how the media manipulates what is broadcast. The "divide" between Republican moderates and conservatives is no where near what that national media would have you believe. The amout of info that ends up on edit room floors "so to speak" is staggering. The problem with this country is that too many people dont bother doing there own research and jump on the "bandwagon". That is unfortunate. Why do you think Fox news is attacked so viciously on a daily basis??? Because they get the info out unfiltered, whether you agree with them or not. Achievment by merit is admirable....achievment through deception is not. Hillary and all the other dems who voted for the war had the same info Pres Bush had when they voted. It is a sad state where an entire political party in this country needs a war to go bad and for soldiers to die for them to win an election. I served in the Gulf in 91.....i think it was right then and i think its right now.

"what the majority of people in this country wants"..........honeslty, do you think im in the minority???? You know the answer!! Ill pass on the $1000 dontaion. That would be like going to the Kentucky Derby and betting on a horse with one leg.....waste of money!!!!

Osama Obama...for crying out loud...grow up. If you want to discuss politics discuss it with some knowledge and some self-respect. Pepsi Pelosi---it truly okay of you have issues with females being in charge(:faint: )....just get used to it...because she is not the first female who is gonna wipe the floor with the with members of the opposite party.

By the way Tampsguys---love the cartoon....I was just debating this very subject with some classmates in my Diversity class!!!

I just read about Romneys flip flop.....realistically he has no shot, and he lost my vote. He should go drinking with kerry!!!! As far as someone joining me with my drum banging....in this counrty, i dont have to look to far!!!! Here's hoping Jeb throws his hat in the ring!!!! isnt it amazing liberals are all about freedom of speech and expression.......unless you say something they dont agree with!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hmmmm... Let's just take a minute and see how these fellas stack up:

Jeb Bush is on record in 1995 as stating Gay rights & feminism are “modern victim movements”.
Mitt Romney (2005):"I think it's appropriate for us to indicate that we do care as a society and that marriage is a relationship preserved for a man and a woman."
John McCain has been all over the place on this issue but most recently having been seriously schooled by the wingnuts he's doing his best to placate, he disappoints us who see this as a significant civil rights issue:"Sen. John McCain said Thursday that he supports an initiative that would change Arizona's Constitution to ban gay marriages and deny government benefits to unmarried couples." Arizona Republic August 26, 2006

Now compare that to...
Rudy Giuliani (please note correct spelling) supports civil unions and signed a generous domestic partnership bill as mayor of New York.

Now -- were I a Republican, I think I know where I'd be putting my money...
