Is there anyplace to go fishing on WDW property. I though I remembered hearing about fishing on Bay Lake, but wasn't sure. Will be down again in Nov. with some friends and my GF's hubby wants to go fishing.

Also, do you keep the fish or toss them back? (don't know how he would filet and cook them anyway - we're staying at All Stars). What is the cost and how long can you fish?

Thanks.
Terri

My DH and I went on 2 fishing trips together on our honeymoon last September and he went twice without out me. We fished on Bay Lake and inside the World Showcase at Epcot. Fishing at Epcot was the best. You can only fish inside WS on the first excursion at 6am (I think it was 6). My DH enjoyed fishing at Epcot the most. If you choose the 6am excursion you will have to take a taxi to whichever resort the excursion will be leaving from. I think that was around $20 from the Wilderness Lodge to the Yacht & Beach Club. Next time we go we would like to try Downtown Disney. If you are really into fishing definetly go. They have some pretty big bass in their lakes. Another thing, it's only artificial bait you will have to pay for shiners if you want them. If you do go please post and let us know how you did.

I have another question. On the trips where they say the cost is $160 for 2 hrs. and the cost is per trip, not per person: do they divide the cost amongst the number of people who go on the trip or do you have to rent out the whole boat? There is only one person in our party who would want to fish, so how would they determine what his cost would be?

I can't really answer this one. We had the Deluxe Plan and all recreation was included so all we had to do is give them our card and that was it. I guess it just might be up to you and your friends how you would like to split the costs. Sorry I don't have an answer.

The cost is per boat and you are renting out the boat. They used to have a "Party boat" (cost is per person and you aren't renting the entire boat) fishing excursion from one of the Port Orleans resorts (can't remember which one), but don't know if they still do. We did the Epcot one several times and really enjoyed it (but it doesn't come cheap!)

We did the bass fishing trip from the Poly last aug. It was very expensive and they charge you extra for the bait no less. They do offer drinks hot or cold. Cast member commented that the earliest boat out is best, we had from like 8-10 a.m. I think. It gets hot and too noisy with all the water mice after that. Plus with a tip if was at least $220 for the 5 of us. This year ds wanted to go fishing again but we just ran out of time but I would definetely look into fishing at ol man river at po/riverside resort. I heard its a stocked place by the pool area and you can rent bait and poles. Its a whole lot cheaper if you are on a budget but you still get the experience. Standing versus the boat trip. Then you could even probably go into the resort to check it out, rest and snack etc. I am definetely considering that next time. Out of the 5 of us guess who caught the most bass. well me, the mom of course. CM laughed and made me pull my pole out of the water because all the dss couldnt believe it.
