fishing trip

Has anyone every booked the fishing trip at the resorts? My DM passed away a year ago and we finally got DD to agree to go to WDW. Mom & dad were owners at Boardwalk and this will be the 1st time back for him since she passed. We are staying at OKW and booked the fishing trip for 7am--figuring the fish might be biting better in the morning. I am a little worried about the experience not being what he and DS really want. They often go fishing and DS thought this would be a great time with Grandpa. We saw a show on the Travel channel about the fishing trip that seemed really awesome. I was just wondering if anyone else had done it. Thanks

We've done the fishing trips many times while at WDW. We have always stayed at the Polynesian and the pontoon boat always picked us up and yes, we've always done the early fishing too. The captains are always courteous and helpful and they take you to where the fish are biting. My hubby and son have always caught very large bass, 7 pounds plus. We have pictures to prove it too.

They will have sodas, spring water and light snacks onboard too.

Yes, my DH and I did the early a.m. bass fishing excursion on our last trip Nov 2004. We went on the pontoon boat out of Yacht Club. Our guide was fantastic. He took us into Epcot in the lake around World Showcase. We caught so many huge bass! It was so much fun. (The guide also baited my hooks and took all my fish off for me!) He took us over by Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk, but we didn't catch much there. When we were finished, he dropped us off at Hollywood Studios. He actually had us out longer than we paid for. No complaints there!! (Oh, and beverages are included. I know we just wanted water because it had gotten pretty hot.) I think it was the most fun DH has ever had at WDW!

Very sorry about your mother. Nice that you could talk your Dad into going back to WDW. I'm sure this will help make some happy new memories for all of you. Have a great trip!
