Hi!

I am looking to book a charter for my Dad, husband and son for when we go to Vero in June. Any suggestions on charters you have used in the past? My Dad is a pretty seasoned fisherman but DH and son are novices....looking for 1/2 day. Thank you for your help!

We used Vero Beach Tackle for a charter a couple of years ago and had a GREAT time! Captain Brody took my son (9 at the time) and I out in the inlet. We had a blast! My son was pretty much a novice and they took very good care of us.

I think freshwater. Are there any "fish off the beach or getty" places nearby? I think a boat would be more fun, though!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Primarily the inland excursions are in Sebastian Inlet.

I snatched this listing from a web site.

i dont think you'd want freshwater. There is amazing inshore fishing in the area. Redfish, Jacks and Snook are great light tackle species that are in the backwater inlets. Calm water and easy access. Lots of guides in the area, just do a search on the web.

Thank you for the information. I have done a search and am overwhelmed by the listings. So no freshwater? I know my Dad would much prefer saltwater.....actually doing this as a present for Dad....DH and DS are going as well!

Okay, so inshore fishing. I will discuss with my brother and DH!! This board is so helpful!! Thank you.....off to look at Vero Tackle...

The Sebastian inlet is at the opening of the Indian River and the excursions can be near the mouth of the inlet, which will be partly to mostly salt water depending whether the tide is going in or out, and/or they can take you up river and in the marshes where it is fresh water only.
