Let me start out by saying, I hate worms - dead, alive, real, artificial. The boat and the quiet are great, but I would rater grab a book the a fishing pole.

But, I love the idea of taking hubs for a fishing excursion since he enjoys it and the timing never seems to work for him to get out and do it at home. Plus, it would be the first time our 2 year old would go fishing, and hubs has never done bass fishing, so it seems like a fun family first all-around.

We are going late September and staying CSR. I figured we would choose a monorail resort, have breakfast/brunch after the excursion in either MK or one of the resorts, head back for a nap at CSR, then hit the parks in the late afternoon/early evening.

Anyone have experience to share or advice on time (7am or 9am) and day of the week to go?

I believe the earlier time is best since there is little boat traffic at that time and the fish are hungry right after sunrise. Based on what I see as an early riser... not a fisherman myself!

I agree with that. Plus, it still gets really hot in September so the earlier the better.

We have done this and it is a real gem of an activity. Based on my ton of research we did the 7AM. Fish were plentiful! The guide is so so good, you can get your fishing on and take pics without ever touching a worm or a fish. They take care of everything and even provide fish holder thing so there is 0 slime from a ladies perspective.

I would probably do it when MK does not have EMH as you want the littlest boat traffic in Bay Lake.

My 2 sons were little and it was their first fishing experience and it was really, really magical.

Great ideas, all! Preliminary hours for September just came out, so I am thinking the 7am from Contemporary on Sunday, followed by brunch at Cali Grill (if it is still around by then).

It is lots of fun especially if the fish are biting. Early is best and boat traffic is seldom a problem. The guides know the lakes and from my experience, 7/8 trips over the years, Bay Lake is your best choice for fish. However, fishing before the World Showcase opens was really a treat.
If you are casting plastics, the grassy shores on the east end of Bay Lake has been my best. Fishing with shiners was always good about 50 yards out from the Lodge dock or right at any of the docks. I'm guessing with a little one the shiners will be the meal of the day!
As mentioned, you don't have to touch a thing if you don't want to or you can do it all. It's a great time.
Have fun and snag a couple for me. Looks like a non Disney year for the first time in a while. Good Luck!!!
