Fishing at Hilton Head

DW and I are planning to go to HH in late Sept. or early Oct. What is the fishing like then? Has anyone gone on a deep sea fishing trip from HH?

We went shark fishing one evening during our last trip, which was at the very end of August. We caught a 7 foot lemon shark and a 39 inch reef shark, and a great time was had by all. Pictures of them are at:

It wasn't deep sea fishing, though. We actually caught the sharks in the same harbor area where we had gone on our dolphin cruise. It was kind of scary, if you think about it.

Those pictures are enough to scare the idea of going to the beach at HH out of me.

What an awesome experience and scary at the same time.

Another interesting thing is that there were a couple of dolphins hanging around our boat for the whole trip, mooching chum from us. They weren't the least bit scared of the sharks. And apparently they're too smart to ever get hooked either. They're sure a fascinating animal.
