Fishing at FW ?

I have not been fishing in YEARS and definitely want to when we go to FW. For those of you who have done it, did you rent a cane pole? If so, did you catch anything? Do I need to bring a cooler to put my fish in? You do get to keep the fish, right?

1) You can rent fishing gear at WDW.
2) Fishing is catch-and-release.
3) Fish were stocked once, and you ALWAYS catch now.

We love to sit out on the pier and fish (in the little lake outside the Meadows Trading Post)! You will catch HUGE sunnies/crappies! We usually use raw bacon as bait - but watch out for the big white birds! They will sneak up behind you and steal your bait right out from under your nose! LOL!

It is catch & release only. Sorry.

Do you have to purchase a fishing license? I have twin 6 year olds who want to fish...I don't want to fish.
