I noticed in a recent Disney mailing about the Beach Club Villas that "fishing" is listed under "Recreation." Is fishing allowed at the Beach Club Villas, and if so, where? In the canal? In the lake?

Way Cool!!!
My DH would be thrilled if I could surprise him with a fishing day at our new "home". Hopefully someone knows the answer or where to get an answer.

Yes, fishing excursions are available at BCV on Crescent Lake. I think you book them at the YC marina.

When we were there in May I saw people fishing in a boat on the lake and in the canal to MGM.

We fished out of BWV and it was awesome. We got some great fixsh and since we went on the 7am we got to fish in the World Showcase Lagoon. There is a link to the pics in my sig.

Disney has fishing excursions, they leave from different spots throughout WDW and tend to fish different lakes. It's a 2 hour excursion and I think up to 5 people for the same price. They take you out on a pontoon boat, supply drinks (non alcoholic) and will even bait your hook of you want. You can fish from the bank at FW and I've heard some say from OKW as well. I don't think you can fish otherwise and you cannot simply rent a boat and go fishing on your own, at least not within the rules. The price when I went was $175 plus tax and live bait which put it over $200 in 95 or 96. We actually went twice since we were doing the food n fun card. The amount for 2 fishing excursion for 4 would have cost more cash than the total amount of the card. Add to that the trail ride and eatin our way through the world and we definitely got our money's worth.

The fact that their game is basically all of the fishing that's done, you can have fantastic luck. They will essentially guarantee that each person catches one decent bass and the guides will go to great lenghts to try to assure that.

We did the fishing trip from YC in May. It was the 1st time fishing for my wife and 2 daughters. Our guide "Robert" was excellent. My wife caught a 4++lb bass, plus severl aothers. My 7 yr old caught a few, and I caught about 4.

Before going I thought that it was going to be a catching frenzy. It was anything but. We had to listen to our guide about various techniques and baits, only then did we catch fish.

We went on the 10am trip, the fish are less active. As per our guide, the 7am trip is always better.

Price was commensurate with return, we even received a discount because he said it was slow!! Gave a $20 tip on a bill of about $146
